30 Seconds To Mars: The Kill Meaning
Song Released: 2006
The Kill Lyrics
Laugh it all off in your face
What would you do? (Oh, oh)
What if I fell to the floor
Couldn't take this anymore
What would you do, do, do?
Come break me down
Marry me, bury me
I am finished with you
What if...

I think it's about self-hate. He's arguing with himself. The video makes this clear.

Jared leto dated cameron diaz for awhile, they split some say because of she wanting to be a big actress, and he wanted to pursue the band, he wrote the song to her. The rest is pretty much self explanitory. Not being gay.
-
In an interview jared leto said that this song was about losing your mine, about going crazy

Alright :), I think this song is about a girlfriend trying to change her boyfriend and after a while he just couldn't take it... "what if I wanted to break laugh it all off in your face what would you do? What if I fell to the floor couldn't take this anymore what would you do?"... That verse to me says that changing for her is putting a lot of pressure on him! And like he feels like he isn't living his life any more. He feels like his girlfreind is making him live another life as antother person..."what if I wanted to fight, beg for the rest of my life". It also seem like he wants her to see what she is doing, and that he at one point did anything she told him to becuase he loved her so much: "come break me down marry me, bury me I am finished with you, look in my eyes you're killing me, killing me, all I wanted was you" then he says: "I tried to be someone else but nothing seemed to change I know now, this is who I really am inside finally found myself fighting for a chance, I know now, this is who I really am"...And that makes me think, hey this guy actually changed to meet his girl friends demands but then after he did all that it wasn't enough. She just found more things wrong with him. After a while he noticed he wasn't him anymore so he..."finally found myself fighting for a chance"...Then I think maybe he is saying..."this is who I really am"...To the girl. You know telling her he won't change anymore. I think this is a really powerful song and I love it. I first heard it on fuse. Yeah fuse rox

This is a song about the battle one faces with oneself. Basicly it is a man slipping into insanity.
