Alan Walker: Faded Meaning
Song Released: 2015
Faded Lyrics
[Verse 1]
You were the shadow to my light
Did you feel us?
Another star, you fade away
Afraid our aim is out of sight
Wanna see us, alive
[Pre-Chorus 1]
Where are you now?
Where are you now?
Where are you...
-
1. Most of these interpretations are wrong, because Alan Walker is a BOY, NOT A GIRL. 2. I think it’s about him losing someone close to him and trying to find them in his heart
-
I think Alan had a past life in Atlantis and he is trying to find someone of Atlantis saying where are you now.

This song can have multiple meanings to it you just have to connect with the words
-
It's one of my most favourite songs. It's obviously heart wrenching..we can relate this song to our own lives. Often it happens that we can not get back those blissful , amazing days of our life .... but we try hard to find them ...but when we fail ,gradually the memories just fade away ..leaving us lost..alone ...and the thoughts tear us apart...
-
It is very sad, but the time will make you to forget or get someone and try to be happy.

I think its something about Atlantis as all the lyrics match up to the theory of the lost city of Atlantis. At one point the song mentions Atlantis and says its under the sea and its lost. And also it says “was it all in my fantasy” and “was it all imaginary.”
And it being about something fading away like Atlantis’s dissapearence. Its also talking about the shallow waters never meeting and taking a deeper dive. Also it says its breathing alive... so what im trying to say is that this is about finding the lost city of Atlantis because it faded away. This is just a conspiracy theory. -
I believe it means that there is a fear of some sort of reconnecting. Past problems in relationships have hindered the prospect of getting together. The "monster" is the the desire. Where are you now refers to the mindset. Which to me, means both of us.

See this stanza;
You were the shadow to my light
Did you feel us
Another start
You fade away
Afraid our aim is out of sight
Wanna see us
Alive
I think the partner of the girl died in a sunken ship then she was sad at the loss of her beloved(similar to the titanic movie). So from the word 'Another Start' ,it seems that she's trying to start again, recovering from the loss of her partner.
Then in the chorus that she was saying "where are you now" She's longing for the presence of her partner. And because of it she become depressed,She imagining him with her side, making memories again. But she suddenly realize that isn't true.
She decided to suicide in atlantis where her partner died. But it seems that the sea doesn't agree what her planning to do.
So if you are confused read this stanza;
These shallow waters, never met
What I needed
I'm letting go
A deeper dive
Eternal silence of the sea
I'm breathing
Alive
Her attempt to commit suicide didn't work.So that's why in the end of the lyrics was 'Alive'.Because she was alive even she want to be dead. -
She want a new start, She's scared & don't want him to forget her...feeling like she's fading slowly
-
This song is about the last continent of Atlantis... and remembering, awakening, missing... what once was a golden age of love and light.
-
It's all about journey to god.
-
I think of a woman who has dreamed(and innately knew) since she was a little girl that she had a soulmate and so she spent decades looking for him. She has reached a point in her life where she questions whether he ever existed and if he does, when and where is he for her to find?

As far as a I think... Sorry to say, but this songs deep wording can let us go so far on that world up to we're unable to reach or not capable to feel, what was that feeling??
..... U all r right with ur explain of this song, but I humbly request,,, don't go with words, try to get what actually she wanted to dedicate!!
..... It deeps alot* -
I think the song is about feeling lost inside and feeling faded because of something that happened ,sort of like depression.
