Alan Walker: Faded Meaning
Song Released: 2015
Faded Lyrics
[Verse 1]
You were the shadow to my light
Did you feel us?
Another star, you fade away
Afraid our aim is out of sight
Wanna see us, alive
[Pre-Chorus 1]
Where are you now?
Where are you now?
Where are you...

Faded has been my all time favourite song. Along with the melody of this beautiful song, this song has a beautiful meaning. The song mainly deals with loneliness. Both the song and the music video expresses the life of a lonely person, who has none in the world. Moreover, the song and the video also can be described as that there had been something on the earth that wiped out all the humans, just one of them survived. He recalls his life woth his family and friends, which was destroyed by something and he was left alone.
With all of these, Faded symbolizes the need of a true friend in one's life. It also gives a beautiful message that friends and family is the half part of a person.

I think it's about someone (Allen probably)breaking up with someone and regretting it and wondering if they will be all right

its about aging.
you were young and vibrant, we are not, we are faded.
sadly i need to add some text to be able to post, however i still think the song is about aging, so melancholy... -
The Soul is searching for the freedom it once had.
Older and wiser, that freedom seems like an illusion.
Unsure of what reality really is.

As in all true art, it has a different meaning for each person according to their own experiences. As for myself, I'm not sure about all of it, but it makes me think of the deep love my husband and I had for each other. We found each other late in life, each others first everything, especially true love. We were together for 12 years, then he died suddenly from a blood clot. I have been lost without him and sometimes almost wonder was it really true, did that beautiful time in my life really happen or was it a realistic fantasy. But then I look at our son and know it was real. I find that little details of memory are starting to fade and I desperately want to remember every detail. That life with him WAS me. To lose any of it isto lose myself. But, of course, the most important things, and sometimes the actual feelings I had then, come back to me and it's wonderful, but then the grief of his not being here is still there after 9 years. He was 37, I was 39, we had never been married and we hit it off so beautifully and were so happy. One of us would think something andthe other would say it. We married on my fortieth birthday. I am now 61. We had adopted a baby, who is now 12 and he is my heart. Hopefully this gives you a glimpse of what the song means to me.

It’s unlikely but Walker could be talking about Atlantis, the last space shuttle we launched in July of 2011. Under the bright but faded light it set the hearts of its occupants on fire and it certainly went under the sea! We haven’t had any space shuttles since...so we ask “Where are you now, Atlantis?” And the answer is UNDER THE SEA!

Well I think the singer is referring to her love life in the past . But just like the rest it ended badly
Actually I don't know what I'm saying but this song affects me emotionally -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I may be wrong, but what if he is talking to his psyche? What if it is talking about the death of the Ego. He had to let go of himself, the part of him that is closer to the surface, his personality, to go and find himself deeper down? So when he refers to two entities, one may be the ego abd the other one may be the true self. The ego was the shadow to his light, what was holding him back, he let that part go for a deeper dive. "I am faded" may be a way to say his old self id dead, it was like Atlantis, a pure illusion. He realused that he is not the shiny petsonality he wanted to build that seemed so cool (Atlantis).

I think it is about a guy who likes someone but not sure about it. His love is not so friendly (...shadow to my light) and he has gone crazy and slipping away from society.
-
I think that it means to love someone so deeply that you don't know what you do without them. you feel so lost as if you cannot live without them.

As a gay man. I feel a connection with song. I think the lyrics “I’m faded” means losing touch with myself and who am because of what religion says about the LGBTQ community, and the thoughts And memories of what happened there make “the monster run wild inside of me”

I think this song can mean many different things. I think mainly it has a lot to do with nostalgia though. Or perhaps the constant search for something more. Whatever is the shadow to YOUR light. In other words: whatever you have created to be your LOVE. Maybe that is even the life of your youth or a romantic (general) and significant time in your life.
When I say “whatever your romance is” what I mean is that doesn’t necessarily have to be a lover. Maybe that “lover” is yourself or another side of yourself once discovered or still trying to discover. The relationship you have with yourself or with your life. -
Satan was cast down to earth his home is Eden heaven his memory is faded of his home his friend was God he is the shadow to his light. Without God we are all alone God bless u pbwu
