Alan Walker: Faded Meaning
Song Released: 2015
Faded Lyrics
[Verse 1]
You were the shadow to my light
Did you feel us?
Another star, you fade away
Afraid our aim is out of sight
Wanna see us, alive
[Pre-Chorus 1]
Where are you now?
Where are you now?
Where are you...

maybe the singer is referring to guy that promised to come back to her and she hasn't heard from him for a long time. she is lost without his love and wants to know what happened to him and when he will come back to her
-
this is about a love relationship, she is speaking to him. The girl is feeling lost because the boy told her he doesn't love her (and mabe he just leaved her and this is not the first time he does). He was the dark side and she was the brithg side, meaning he was troublesome, but she didn't mind. They had a hot romance kind of relationship. All she wants is to be together with him to enlighten his life, to help him be a better person and become "bright" together. She felt he was giving a true love to her, but she is affraid that feeling was all in her mind (fantasy, imaginary)maybe he told her he wasen't giving her true love. Atlantis, being under the sea and the water referrals and monsters are a methaphor about how she is feeling: she is sinking, and become faded, like blurred, so confused, LOST. She suffers nightmares on this situation. She never got what she needed in this relationship, and now she is letting her sad feelings flow, she is sinking emotionally but at the same time she hears the silence of his absence and she notices she feels alive, she faces reality, she is alone and at last she is not dead.

i think we are all faded, somewhere broken and disconnected from the world. This makes us feel faded, the feeling of getting lost in some other world, with someone. I also wish that my dream world too come true so that i can live in it rather that feeling lost and faded living in the reality.
-
I think the song speaks about being lost. You don't know where you were or who you are so you're 'faded'. Away from the truth, from those you love and those you thought you loved.
-
She is trying to find her home, or her Atlantis. She wants to know where it is because it is a fantasy like she says.
-
I always thought it was about a girl trapped between reality and fantasy, she is in love with a boy from her world inside of her mind, and he seduces her to join his world. she feels as if she is fading away from reality. (just my dumb 12 year old interpretation)
-
I think that Alan's boyfriend or very close. Friend has disappeared/passed on, and Alan is Is hurting. Good song, but that meaning makes it a kinda sad song.
So, yeah. -
I think the singers boyfriend is gone like one day he was there with her and the next day he was gone or it could be that they're dating but the singers boyfriend neglects her and when they are in public he treats her like a stranger, blocks her from his social media and when they see each other lets say alone... he acts as if he cares and just asks for a hug and barely feels like kissing her at all but the singer in her mind thinks they have something going on low key but the boyfriend has it all planned out ...like he just wants to use her for something not really sure for what but something so that is why the singer feels faded because she feels that the love she giving to her guy is taken granted and shes lost, under the sea because she doent know what to do..
-
the singer has lost her boyfriend. he's taken off or died or moved on, and she's in pain...
she's in denial... and her mind is going crazy with the "monsters" running wild in her as she tries to figure out why he's gone.
