Betrayed Lyrics

Passion in my eyes, I lived it everyday, but how could you go throw it all away?
In my dreams it's me and you, it's there I saw it all come true
As time went by faith in you grew, so one thing's left for me to do

I feel it burn inside,...

Lol this is funny. Some of their songs are clearly biblically based. That however does not mean they are christian. there is also a clear difference between a christian band and a band of christians. if they are infact christians they would have to fall into the latter category. Good charlotte have songs about their faiths or beliefs, clearly they are not a christian band, but some if not all of them have christian beliefs.
so this song is obviously not about judas or anything, however alot of their songs, their name etc are clearly biblically based. That is fact, they even admit where their name comes from. Clearly noone can state their beliefs except for them however so as to whether they believe the things in their songs is for debate. the band state that they do not want to impose their beliefs on people either way, but i have not seen anything that states they are or are not christian, so unless anyone actually personally knows the guys then the debate is pointless!

There is absolutely no reason for this song to need a damn interpretation. Anyone who owns City of Evil can see what this song is about. Now, as for the entire "christian" debate when it comes to this band; Plain and simple, no one in their right mind would ever define Avenged Sevenfold as a christian band. However, they do reference the bible countless times. But you know what? So did Iron Maiden, and Zeppelin, and even Sabbath. The bible is one of the oldest pieces of literature in existence. They propably reference the bible because it gives them an extremely creative outlook in their music. Biblical knowledge is almost universal, to a certain extent, it gives them something that everyone can relate to. Its like if you were an over the top Lord of the Rings fan and your favorite band referenced it in one of their songs. Its just something for you to relate to lyrically. And as far as the band members are concerned, Its their fucking business as to whether or not they believe in God.

I just want to say, that Avenged Sevenfold has said before in interviews that they're "Not really a religious band". And as it said on the City of Evil case (the album Betrayed was on), the song is about Dimebag. But as the police discovered, the shooter WAS a Pantera fan. But he wasn't upset over the breakup, he thought "Pantera were reading his thoughts and laughing at him", he was mentally ill.
"I started here so young and helped you get along
Just did it for the love, and people healed through us
Don't live your life in vain, don't take it out on me
You're cracked, so just remember, I'm not your enemy
I don't deserve to fall this way, by a man who felt betrayed"
That pretty much explains the whole killing of Dimebag, although the police read the shooters personal writings and it was discovered that the reason behind the killing WASN'T the Pantera breakup, most fans still see it that way because it makes the most sense.
Anyway, Avenged is an amazing band. And I love this song.

Whether you like it or not, A7X had made Biblical references in their entire time as a band. This is not to say that they are a Christian band, or that they are not. I hope that they have some faith. They obviously recognize that god is there, it is a question of whether or not they accept him. Let me tell you. In the video for "seize the day" there is a cross in the lead singers prison cell. One of the guitar players had a cross on his shirt in the live video of afterlife. The entire album "City of Evil was about Babylon (from the bible) the song "Beast and The Harlot" is about the fall of Babylon specifically. It even describes the beast.
    PS
Dont be quick to react until you read the bible yourself.

    Okay, this songs about Dimebag.(RIP)
But you can't deny that loads of A7X are straight from the bible.
If M.Shadows hated Catholicism/Christianity then A7X wouldn't have so much biblical reference.

A7X may not be religious but they must have some connection with the bible. You must a great feeling for something, to put so much of it in your songs.

Zacky Vengance even says it it about Dimebag's killer. He's in the band there is no reason to go against that.

    WHOEVER WROTE THIS:

I've been a deathbat for some time now, long before most people knew what that was. Anyway, if a7x is a Christian band then I will have sex with you right here. A7x are far from Christian, Matt hated Catholic school so much he threatened to kill his principal to get expelled. His principal actually died and he got blamed for it and got kicked out. Anyway..Point being, if you are an a7x fan you know that this song is about Dimebag Darrell as the others have stated, they even dedicated it to him in the booklet that comes with the CD. Duh!

Ok. Let me put this to rest. A7X, though they are awesome, is not a Christian band, (cuz, they curse, lol), and, this song was about "dimebag" from pantera. (if it was about judas, they would've talked about knives instead of guns.) But, they do have Bible references in many of their songs, so that is that!!

Even though they are not a christian band, they do use some bible versus and stories, and also reference God. like in afterlife all they do is talk about him going to heaven and wanting to go back, the beast and the harlot is also a story in revelations. There are many more references to God and the bible, so please tell me why they would incorporate those things into there lyrics if they did not believe in god... also betrayed is about dimebag...

If anyone knew anything about the scientific anatomy of music or any brief knowledge of the metaphysics one would know that music or sound itself for that matter is something that's roots point to intelligent design and also eerily to the metaphysical realm. Therefore the so called secular bands that claim that they can "use" music to portray their message are completely wrong due to the fact that one can't use music simply because people always form there own opinion therefore your general message doesn't really matter because people don't care. In the end one cannot claim to wield a power they cannot even comprehend. The reasons christians can find God in anything is because they look to hard also because if everything scientifically points to intelligent design one can see a creator in everything. Though the bands original intent might have been to bash religion or the state of the world people take from music what they wish therefore the artist's original intent falls on deaf ears.

It's not about Judas or whatever. It's about Dimebag Darrell and the person who shot him. If you actually went and bought the CD instead of downloading it, in the cover booklet it says "Betrayed: In Memory of Dimebag Darrell". And M. Shadows told Launch Radio Networks that the band doesn't have any messages about God, or the Devil. I mean they all claim to be kicked out of Catholic schools.

Either way they are an awesome band.

See it's really creepy, but the key to figuring it all out is to open the book of Revelations and read it while listening to the music....it's probably the most creepiest and disturbing book of the bible with all the visions John has. If you are defiant and won't admit to A7Xs song lyrics having a severe amount of religious references then so be it. But only say it after trying this first. Get a bible, go the book of revelations, play several of A7Xs songs (beast and the harlot, wicked end, etc) and you'll see all the parallels between the two. Prepared to have your mind blown away cause the book of Revelations isn't an easy read. lol

This one is most likely about Dimebag Darrel, but many of their songs are directly out of the bible. Chapter Four and the Beast and the Harlet are most definitely derived from scripture.
