Black Veil Brides: Shadows Die Meaning
Shadows Die Lyrics
This trojan horse, rode to the land we enter
We'll burn away and free our fallen brothers
From shackles made of steel and bones of soldiers
Let shadows die so I can feel alive
A church...

This comes from a personal point of view, and how I've looked at it. I also do think that it is about forgetting the past in order to move on but I feel like there's also a bit more to it. That one line, "A church of lies, can't tell me what is right." And this is also to anybody out there who has extremely holy parents like me. I've really thought about this line and this is what I've gotten: Blasphemy is using the church for your own benefit, as far as I know. So when people who don't understand Black veil Bride's music, they immedietly refer to it as being evil or not something for a christian to listen to. I feel that in that one line, Black Veil Brides are trying to say that people who Blaspheme don't have a say in your life, they can't tell you what you are doing is right or wrong because blasphemy itself is wrong. I hope I've expressed my views in the right way :)

I think its about leaving an old version of you behind and moving on with what you have and making the best of it
-
I think that it means to let go of what is holding you back. Always keep going forward. Idk though so....

I think this song is about letting your past go and not letting them consume you, and to focus on now and not let anyone tell you to be different

The best song

i think its talking about how you must let shadows die to be able to live your life. just like the lyrics say. Pretty much meaning to move on and do what you want to do to make your life better
-
Shadows Die is about defeating F.E.A.R.'s reign and refusing to live as he tells them and freeing those who were captured by him.
