    He's thinking about suicide, not seriously, just kind of glancing at it. He's reliving some past events that are significant in his eyes. They aren't happy memories, but they're don't extremely depressing. Then he gets sober and becomes truly happy; not having to rely on substances or false emotion to be happy. Addicts always forget the worst things we've done because they are too painful to remember. We acknowledge that we were horrible though and that still eats at us. He's pretty real when he's around others, sometimes a little awkward, but always kind. Sometimes when he's going through a hard time he writes about it or may just need to blow off some steam and get it out of his system. And he has found better ways to deal with his emotional issues. He is happy. He tries to be as patient as possible. He apologizes to the people he hurt in the past. He forgives any grudges that others may hold against him and hopes that others can forgive him. He tries to live in the moment and enjoy how happy he has become.

    I just heard this song for the first time today and immediately I realized that he was tiring to get across how great it is to be the kind of happy that you know is just how you feel an completely not dependent on anything. I have been searching for this feeling for a while and maybe I haven't given it enough time, but this song gives me that that I will get there someday.
