Bring Me the Horizon: Blessed With A Curse Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Blessed With A Curse Lyrics
I was blessed with a curse
And for better or for worse
I was born into a hearse
I know i said
My heart beats for you
I was lying girl
It beats for two
Cause I've got your love
And I've got these vices
Take...

#1 top rated interpretation:i think this song really means he was really blessed with a curse and the curse is not being able to find love but then again he was blessed like saying its sometimes good not to love because love can hurt like hell

Oliver Scott "Oli" Sykes confirmed this song is about religion, and how he was trying to make sense of his own battles in life. "Take back every word I said" is not about promising to love a woman, it was his promise to God that if God could help him win his battles against depression and drugs that he would be forever grateful, but his problems only worsened after attempting to find faith. Oli truly believed he was dammed, since 2010 when the song was written, he has made excellent strides in bettering himself, and has completely denounced religion in favor of a spiritual belief setting, that you control your own happiness and the only place one should look is inside themselves.

I read somewhere (and it could be 100% false but I thought it was pretty interesting that someone could come up with this conclusion) that it was him being torn between religion. There's always those rumors of artist selling there souls to the devil for fame and fortune. In this case the person set it out as Oli sold his soul for fame but now he's torn between God and he doesn't know which he believes in anymore etc. That person had a way more detailed explanation than I did. I think that would fall back on his "secret" in Chelsea Smile.
In MY opinion though I feel like this song is about his drug problem. -
This song reminds me about a friend of mine who suffers from a number of physical, emotional, mental and psychological illnesses, including schizophrenia, OCD and depresion. Shes only 15 and shes been suffering her whole life. I believe this song is about suffering from disabilities and how you see that you're stuck with it and you blame yourself and feel incapable of anything, including love.

This song isn't about cheating(relationship wise) in other songs of the album are about how oliver is torn between love and drugs.
i guess it can be cheating, because lying to her and praising drugs more than her would make sense.
Oliver sykes has depression and he turned to drugs as his remedy, obviously it backfired on him lol
so then he feels like he is uncapable of having love and long lasting relationships -
As we can see this is about a bad relationship which comes to an end or about a guy who loves a girl but cannot move on with her for some reasons:
1) It could be about a relationship that is sinking beacuse he is clearly hurt and he wants to forget every good thing he said to the girl. Propably she does not mean anything and now that he realased it he is suffering the sad truth. He feels cursed beacuse he thought his life is perfect but it seems that it was a completely lie.
2) The guy is in love with a girl that also has feelings for him. Although he is scared to move on with her, beacuse he is been hurt in the past a lot, and is not sure that this won't happen again. So he is trying to let her go before something bad happens -
Its about how someone has been messed around so much by a girl that he feels dead inside.
"Take back Every word I've said Ever said to you" this shows that he just cant take it anymore.
