Ludens Lyrics

Some resist the future, some refuse the past
Either way, it's messed up if we can't unplug the fact
That a world covered in cables was never wired to last
So don't act so surprised when the program starts to crash
form a connection when we...

The stick and stones line, as other commentators have stated refers to the fact that physical hurt will, in time, subside. However I have a different interpretation of the names line.

I think it's a literal reference to people's names. As in, someone snitches to an authority who in turn captures and gets more names out of that person but in the process kills them and makes one more grave.

    Powerful stuff.

The song is mainly about death stranding's antagonist higgs who is scared to touch others and is quoted in game saying "how am I supposed to form connections if I can't shake even hands." It is also about Oli and his love of nature using Luden ( from the time wanderers) which is a human that has surpassed the normal sapiens Oli uses luden as the type of leader we need to help save the environment while keeping to higgs' mentality the song also has small deep sayings like the sticks and stones lines where sure physical pain passes but the pain caused by words can last longer and kill more. This is a touch up on the fact that oli knows people who listen to his music may have dealt with problems in the past. So all in all this is a deep philosophical song and in depth views on oli's love of the environment.

Yay another correction post alright this song is actually not just anti tech so lets go in depth. So the introduction is saying that the old always try to break away from the future while the young try to break away from the past either way is very messed up from a philosophy standpoint. The cables not being wired to last is the fact that if we continue down the path we are currently we will meet doom as plants will not survive. Now pre-chorus. The pre-chorus is direct reference to the antagonist of death stranding Higgs Monaghan who has a fear of touching others and says in game "How am I supposed to form a connection when I can't even shake hands." Your like a phantom greeting me is another reflection to higgs who looks like the grim reaper its also since he can't touch its like it goes through him. He does plot in the shadows also another reference to this song agreeing slightly with higgs. Hang out in the gallows is a reference to being hanged for the things they have or will do. Chorus. The Chorus is mainly pro nature and it's oli expressing his love for plants and other parts of nature.will you retry or let the pain resume is oli asking Sam ( death stranding mc) if he will press the retry button when he dies or let everyone die. We need a new leader the old one is gone possibly. Ludens are a fictional race from The Time Wanderers and are basically super humans. So come out side its time to see the tide is back to oli and his love of nature. its out of sight but never out of mind means we may not see the problem but we always know its there. verse2. Sticks and stones flipped seen in song as Sticks and stones may break my bones but soon the sting will pass but names can dig so many graves you won't know where to stand basically words are more dangerous and can be fatal so can sticks and stones but sticks and stones will pass. I don't feel secure no more unless I'm being followed is a reference to possible anxiety that is felt in the game or by oli. The only way to hide myself is to give them a hell of a show this is the turning point in the song where it gets heavier than the amo like song so far also seems oli is saying that something big has to happen before the fears will pass. The break down. you call this a connection is the repeating of higgs. The give me a break is the breakdown of higgs also THAT BREAK DOWN all in all its a song about a game and saving nature.

This song is a look at humanity and our current course, but the song was heavily inspired by a videogame, and the company that made the videogame has a subsidiary named "Luden". The song itself talks about how humanity has become robotic with our addiction towards technology, we will eventually forget what it's like to have meaningful relationships because everything we do is based on artificial circuitry instead of the circuitry within us.
