   The meaning of the song ‘When I Was Your Man’ is that in our current time period, many males do not treat their girlfriends and wives the way they should. Even in the old times, there were still males who would hit, humiliate, and even kill females. Sometimes these males feel that they love someone when they already see them happy with another man. They realize that they should have done everything they could so that that woman was still with them. This song could relate to many young guys because they are always playing with girl’s feelings and when they find a girl they really like and feel love towards, they treat her wrong and she ends up going to a guy who may or may not treat her better. But this does not only apply to guys. Girls can treat guy just as badly as guys treat some girls.

   what im thinking he was saying in this song is how he lost his girlfriend because he wasn't 100% there for her. he explains how much he wishes he can take it back nd be there wit her. but she moved on and has another boyfriend and he explains how he hopes her bf will do the things he never got to do with her.

   My opinion is that I think Bruno is trying to sing about how he didn't pay attention to his woman or he didn't do things that he should of and now she has gone with another guy and he feels very disappointed and he is hoping that the new dude show the respect that Bruno didn't show.
