Dashboard Confessional: Living In Your Letters Meaning
Living In Your Letters Lyrics
but you're going on nonetheless
and there's nothing to cushion your heart led fall.
Letters from further away
keep pulling me close to home.
And there's something to cushion my callous sighs.
And I know that...

that it is all safe to take together, but it's not rllaey comforting to know that I basically have a pharmacy in my purse. I was wondering if you had any organic, natural remedy ideas that i could try out so that i can potentially stop the medications, or at the very least help my immune system become stronger.

Chris (artist) knew exactly how difficult it is to maintain a long distant relationship, and seriously a long distant relationship is a pretty strong commitment. It’s hard not being “there”(correct usage) physically for your “love”, and nothing can really “cushion” that loneliness for both lovers. When we do see that person, we do hope for “longer good-byes”, we soak ourselves with love letters that the other person sent and rely on pictures to make us feel sane. I myself continue to fail many trials but she still stands next to me continuing to face this distant with me…but for how long? Our useless space is what we argue about every time; still if she ever parts from me she will always have a place…”in my heart”. It’s easier to give up when we all hit “the pavement”, better than playing the wait game to think it might get better, and it becomes natural that she only pushes me away… Am I crazy to think that I might have a chance with her even if she’s pushing me away? The last sentence explains how pure this love is, and I can only hope that she feels the same way too…
So Mimi, I might have totally lost you in the interpretation of this song but I do know that I will love you regardless of what happens. This distance is terrible, and I can only imagine how tired you are. “Absence sharpens love, presence strengthens it”. That’s a promise… -
no matter how much he may doubt his relationship and question why he's going through all that he is, in the end he "hits the pavement" he's going to see her. falling in love when you're ten isn't pointless, its innocent and beautiful.
so I'll hit the pavemet its gotta be better than WAITING and pushing you far away becase I'M SCARED... So, I'll take my chances and head on my way up there.. because turning to you is like falling in love when you're ten. -
This song is about the singer's struggle to balance a long distance relationship with his needs and the needs of the other. The opening verse is about his confusion. He misses her and assumes that she misses him but their lives seem to just continue. Her letters however keep drawing his attention back home.
The second verse is a reflection on how he lives through her letters, as is the title of the song. He explains the scent and how he can't live without it. To him the scent of his girlfriend that is on the letters represents their relationship and it causes a strong emotional reaction.
In the third verse he goes back to the confusion. He knows that he isn't doing well in this distance relationship. He wants her to let him sink but she won't let him. This is a metophore for their relationship. He wants to end it and to just sink down because of the depression that would follow but she won't let him because she knows that they still have love for each other. He then explains that the "distance seems terrible" and that their relationship doesn't need to be tested with "useless space." He's knows his feelings and he doesn't see a purpose to the distance so it tortures him.
I'm not sure about the end. I believe it means that he concludes that the relationship is too hard with the distance. He wants to fall on his face and let the pain just happen. He says that "turning to you is like falling in love when you're ten." Falling in love when you're ten is pointless because you don't understand love. Turning to her then would be pointless because he doesn't understand how to make the distant relationship work.
