Dashboard Confessional: Screaming Infidelities Meaning
Screaming Infidelities Lyrics
I never sleep
Avoiding the spots where we'd have to speak,
And this bottle of beast
Is taking me home
[1.]
I'm cuddling close
To blankets and sheets
But you're not alone, and you're not discreet
Make sure I know...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think the obvious has been overlooked here. Clearly, he is heartbroken in this song over a girl who has been unfaithful. I think the line "your hair, it's everywhere" is quite literal. He has caught her in the act, in his own bed. For days after he finds her and her lover's pubes in his bed and in his home and it's a constant slap in the face or "screaming infidelity".

It’s about being left for someone “better.” She left, and he hasn’t moved on, or can’t. Maybe she cheated, or maybe she left him before hand. Either way, she betrayed him. “And when did your eyes begin to look fake?” So now that she’s gone, everything she does she’s flaunting. So that the tiniest things that remind him of her, like her hair scattered in his belongings, feel like they’re screaming at him. Adding to all the clear things she’s doing without him, and because he hasn’t moved on, they’re “screaming infidelities.” And also, “I hope you’re as happy as you’re pretending.” That’s the line that breaks me. He still wants her to be as happy as she appears, and he still loves her. Even after betrayal, and heartbreak. That’s how I interpret the lyrics. Also, Ruston Kelly’s version (it had Chris in it) is beautiful.

Hello friends,
I just signed up to get familiar with the place. Nothing much to say for now :) - but i will come with time. I am a video producer by the way.
Cheers! -
His girlfriend dumped him for some other guy and he knows because she doesnt hide it. He doesnt understand why they're done, since they were happy up until she abruptly left him. He wants to move on, like she obviously has, but her memories are constantly in his mind. He would like to think shes as unhappy as he is, but she looks happy with whoever she's with.

If any of you have ever seen/read an interview with Chris, you'd know that the "your hair, is everywhere" line is literal. He literally found her hair (no, not her or their pubic hair) in his car, on his couch....everywhere after they broke up and it was a constant painful reminder of what they had, and what she did. According to Chris she had this beautiful long red hair, and this relationship was quite extensive and then painful as she and Chris had started to talk again, when she want once again went back to the guy she cheated on him with.

He misses her, he tried to avoid them speaking because all they did was argue and that is what took him home. While he is laying there alone she lets him know who she is with because she is not alone; She wants attention.
As much as he reads the letter that she wrote him...he still doesn't understand what she was trying to say and what had just happened. The only part that he understood was just the part where it says "I'll love you always and forever" and that is the part where he became sad.
He is now in a depressive mood desperate to move on but because he is always thinking about her it is impossible.
He started to notice the changes she had been making... She was starting to become unhappy with him and he was confused of when it all started...he didn't see the signs. He tried to sleep but there is no way to sleep because he wishes that she was there with him.
and all he thinks about is her being unfaithful -
This chick is a bitch... Shes cheating on him and makes sure he knows what she's doing...
I'm cuddling close to blankets and sheets
but you're not alone, and your not discrete
you make sure I know whos taking you home
i'm cuddling close to blankets and sheets
and I am alone, in my defeat
i wish I knew you were safely at home -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This song is great and sad all at once. It's about a man who is racked with pain after a break up from his girl. He continues to think about her after she is gone. He wants to know what she is up to and what she is doing and who she is with but he is trying to avoid akward feelings.this part is the best explaination of the pain this man feels:
Well As for now I'm gonna hear the saddest songs
And sit alone and wonder
How you're making out
But as for me, I wish that I was anywhere with anyone
Making out. -
This song is basically about him being lonely and missing his ex. She's obviously moved on and sort of shoved it in his face, he knows that she's not really happy though and would rather be with him but she left. It was her mistake... They don't talk anymore.
