Dashboard Confessional: The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most Meaning
The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most Lyrics
And covered with a perfect shell
Such a charming, beautiful exterior
Laced with brilliant smiles and shining eyes
Perfect posture, but you're barely scraping by
But you're barely scraping by
This...

This song is about a girl. A girl who built up trust and hope in one thing. She could turn to that one thing when she was afraid of all else. It was the place she fled to when faced with "the places she feared the most". Now though, that one place, that safe haven, IS/has become the place that she has come to fear the most.

Oh I saw that anon remark and I have to say that your reply is biarlilnt! And I sometimes force myself just to do nothing and be with the kids. Actually play with them. They say only 30 minutes of actual play with a single child per week can make a huge difference on the relationship with your child.

This song is about a girl, but she is only pretty because she is forced to be.
on the outside, it appears that she has it all together, the perfect, happy life, but inside this life is killing her because she is so unhappy with the person that she must pretend to be.
now she feels isolated and alone : she has no one who truly knows who she is, no one can penetrate this facade that she's created and hid behind for so long.
so after working so hard to be something she's not, to live up to everyone elses ideals, now it seems that all she can do is let people down. She no longer has the energy to please everyone else and it is making her empty inside because for so long, her life has only been about pleasing others. That was the thing that filled her hollow shell and made her real. now she knows that it was all fake. -
I think this song is about a pretty girl who puts up this wall and hides her true self
