Eminem: Asshole Meaning
Song Released: 2013
Asshole Lyrics
Came to the world at a time when it was in need of a villain
An asshole, that role I think I succeed in fulfilling
But don't think I ever stopped to think that I was speaking to children
Everything was happening so fast, it was like...

Eminem came to the world at a time when it was in need of a villain, or an asshole. That role, he thinks he succeeded fulfilling. But he doesn't want us to think I ever stopped to think that he was speaking to children. Because everything was happening so fast, it was like he blinked and sold three million.
Then it all went blank. All he remembers is feeling ridiculous because he was getting sick of that feeling like he was always under attack. I could have stacked my shit list to the ceiling, women dishing, but really thinking, "If anyone ever talks to one of my little girls like this, I would kill him!"
Guess he's a little bit of a hypocrite when he's ripping shit, but since when did this many people ever give a shit what he had to say? It's just his opinion. If it contradicts how he's living, put a dick in your rear end!
That's why every time we mentioned a lyric, he thanked us for it, for drawing more attention toward it. Because it gave him an enormous platform. He was flattered we thought he was that important. But we can't ignore the fact that he fought for the respect and battled for the mad awards, and had GLAAD annoyed.
Atta-boy! They told him to slow down, he'd just zone out and wish them good luck trying to convince a blonde. It was like telling Gwen Stefani that she sold out! Because he was trying to leave no doubt in anyone's mind one day he'd go down in history. He thinks they know now, because everybody knows that he's just an asshole! Everywhere that he goes, people want to go home. Everyone knows, so he won't pretend to be nice. There's no place he can hide. He's just an asshole, everyone knows. Thanks for the support, asshole. Then he thanks all the other assholes around the world for their support. -
This song is about people expect you to be an a****** you might as well be one. It's also about how every situation may require a bad guy to do the things that need to get done.

I know this isn't an interpretation, but I just had an epiphany after listening to this song countless times that the lines "This whole world is a mess, gotta have a goddamn
Vest on your chest and a Glock just to go watch Batman" is a reference to the 2012 Aurora Shooting O_o -
Marshall Mathers describes himself as a villainous character that our world is in need of. He is described as the hole of ones rectum.
