Eminem: My Darling Meaning
My Darling Lyrics
Yeah, look
If I were to rap about the crap that's out
That's the route you probably want me to take
Cos your just dying to know what I think
And my take on some other bitches
If I was to say somethin' bout' Paul Wall...

#1 top rated interpretation:A lot of you are wrong, it has to do with both Spiritual messages AND drugs, he literally states it in black and white in the song. He speaks about selling his soul for the fame, before realizing the mistake he was making. The possessed Eminem/Demon mentions how he went dormant (or that Eminem broke free of his addictions and shortcomings in general) long enough for him to watch his kids grow, only to return and claim what is his. Anyone who denies the spiritual meaning of this song is incredibly naive. You don’t have to be a religious individual to understand the meaning of “I gave you enough time, your soul's mine, I'm taking it back”. It’s all just common sense, people.

#2 top rated interpretation:This song was an extra soundtrack for Eminem's sixth album Relapse.
"The evil side of Slim Shady" Sings to Eminem about his angry, deranged, drug-addicted ego. "The evil Slim Shady" which can also be known as Eminem's conscience aka The voice inside his head is trying to convince him to go back to his old ways and do drugs again which was stated in verse two:
"I had you beat"
"No I was just playing possum, remember? I let you watch your little girls blossom I gave you enough time, your soul's mine I'm takin' it back"
and the chorus:
"My darling, I don't ever want you to leave me, my darling
You and me were meant to be together my darling
And if I cannot have you no one can, you're my darling
Cause I possess your soul, your mind, your heart and your body
I don't ever want you to leave me, my darling
You and me were meant to be together my darling
And if I cannot have you no one can, you're my darling
Cause I possess your soul, your mind, your heart and your body" You may think that Eminem talking about a person but he's not he's talking about the drugs. -

#3 top rated interpretation:i honestly think it has to do with Eminems past drug situation.Yes drugs are the devil in the song ,but i don't think it has nothing to do with the illuminati. Many say revearsing songs back it does but anyone can do a song lyrics backwords and make it sound demonic.I'm not a wise person but just my opinion.then there's that lyric "can't even sleep without ny-quil"
-
I honestly think this song is about his daughters because if most of y'all don't realize the song mentions I watched your little girls blossom I gave you enough time your souls mine im taking it back. If I ever have kids I'm singing this to them because near the end dre mentions since you're off the drugs.
-
He's clearly talking about the devil yall
R u people dumb !?
Fame has a price too
How can u guys ignore that line -
This song isn't about the devil, it's about his alter ego slim shady. He doesn't want to be him anymore but thinks he can't survive in the rap world without being him.
-
For those who do not understand this is eminem having an "internal" conversation with his alter ego slim shady is almost a continuation of the song when in gone , when he supposedly kills the slim shady.
-
It's all about drugs no illuminati shit the song goes on abt eminem hooked up on drugs i'm sure you all knw abt slim shady addicted on drugs.
-
It’s very clear and obvious the ‘Demon’ and voice he hears is the inner demon that is his addiction speaking... People saying it’s about Satan/Devil/Illuminati are just foolish... Listen to what Dre says to him on the track regarding his comparison to when he was using drugs to how he is now. The line.; ‘I had you beat’ in the 2nd verse. This is clearly referencing beating his addiction. I understand how listeners could view it as a demonic spirit within him about the Illuminati..., but for real, anyone who has ever struggled with drug or alcohol addiction personally or witnessed it consume a loved friend or family member, could totally relate to this track! And remember, Em, unlike a majority of likewise addicts, wouldn’t have the financial strain or need to commit crime impacting on his drug habits. So the mental/spiritual side would be a big factor in beating his addiction. Think about it people!!?

I thought this was a song interpertation not a flat earth community convention. I mean come the fuck on, satan? Illuminati? Have you completely lost your fucking minds? Half pf you can't even speak english, let alone complete sentences. No wonder you find it so easy to mistake a song about drug abuse for a satanic worship song.
So go to a shrink, learn some english, and listen to the song fully as a sane, english-speaking person. -
Guys am the number one fan of Eminem but believe me about this track he was trying to expoz illumint and to tell us how they treat him n how they talk to him.. Is very simple n easy.. Illuminat

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
No doubt about that definitely talks about Illuminati
-
The song is talking about eminem leaving illuminati and even if he try he can't win.

Illuminati

Idk I at first also thought that he was arguing with slim shady because the voice I the same voice that is in the intro skit on the slim shady ep but the voice calls Eminem shady so I'm a little confused
-
Well on the Relapse album it's Marshall and all those pills, it's his addiction talking to him. He probably means breaking his relapse cycle by getting him back on drugs so there's no relapse after he is on drugs again. I think the song is about his life being ruined by his addiction, and him feeling tempted to get back on drugs again. Because he used to perform and record a lot while he was high. Which is why the "demon" says he could bring his career back.
