Five Finger Death Punch: Wrong Side of Heaven Meaning
Wrong Side of Heaven Lyrics
What have I become, what have I done?
I spoke to the devil today, and he swears he's not to blame.
And I understood, cuz I feel the same.
Arms wide open, I stand alone.
I'm no hero,...
-
I think it has alittle to do with both.
The fall of man being sinful and selfish as others suffer. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I think most people are missing the point of this song, and yes I have seen the video.
It unfortunately has nothing to due with veterans (even though I am a disabled vet.) It has more to do with the fall of man.
The song is sung from Adam's point of view.
God is ashamed, (adam ate the fruit)
Devil claims he isn't to blame (free will)
I stand alone (no other men)
I'm not made of stone (depression for what he has done, releasing sin into the world)
I heard from God and she sounded just like me (Having knowledge of good and evil)
I saw the devil today and he looked a lot like me (A sinner, fallen from grace)
Wrong side of heaven Righteous side of hell - physically somewhere in the middle like earth,(not in the Garden any more) - spiritually neither good nor bad, just Human
Let me know what you think. -
This song is about a war hero who is definitely suffering from PTSD. He feels that he has done some seriously messed up things that he struggles to live with and make sense of but at the same time he feels that its not all his fault and he is not a bad person because of it. This song shows that complex feelings after war are not just black and white or good and evil.
-
Well after seeing the video its not hard to tell. Its how damn ashamed he is of our government how they dont give a shit about the vets who comeback with ptsd and a bunch of other stuff
-
I think it's about war veterans.
-
He spoke to his mom and she told him basically that she's ashamed of him. Then spoke to his father and his father defended himself by saying its not his fault his son turned out that way and Ivan agrees.
Hes lost himself. He is not a martyr and he has feelings too. He feels as though he let his mom down and he doesn't carry the burden of blaming his father.
I think this song has to do with his parents, and when he is getting closer and closer everyday, I feel he means closer to forgiveness. He was feeling hurt and saying....yes I have feelings too.
Opinions???
