Melanie Martinez: Tag You're It Meaning
Tag You're It Lyrics
Boy, you had your eye out for a little
"I'll cut you up and make you dinner
You've reached the end, you are the winner"
Rolling down your tinted window
Driving next to me real slow, he said,
"Let me...

If u read the lyrics properly I'm sure it's about some kind of relationship problem. Possibly a psychotic ex boyfriend who she still does love but she knows she has to get away from him hense why she's saying "can anybody hear me.." I think she's looking for some kind of help or advise from someone on the situation. I think he keeps bothering her. Hense pulling up in a car with tinted windows and asking to go for a joyride. You get the idea now. Regardless what it's about it's a fab song!

So, Crybaby, the girl she talks about, is supposedly stalked by him (the wolf guy) and he kidnaps her, hinting that by saying he has 'some candy for you inside', and when she tries to escape, he chases her, 'grabs het hair and pushed her don't, and takes off with her inside his van. In her song 'Milk and cookies', she kills the wolf by putting poison in the milk/cookies. Not really sure about the second verse, but still, a good song.

The song says running through the parking lot he chased me and he wouldnt stop tag you're it. So, here she made this story look like the famous game Tag. And we all know Melanie's songs are about kids' struggles, and many kids dissapear because they went into another's car because..that someone told the kid " I got somecandy for you!!" Of course the video isnt like this because, the video must continue somehow her song "Pity party". so she threw away the decorations of her party and went to buy some cerial, then she wanted to buy some ice cream (who whouldnt), the wolf gave her another one, for free, that shows how easy it is for that to happen. And she named it tag you're it because that "guy" was supposed to chase her, so this way she has the meaning and the title, a symbolism title

I absolutely love Melanie Martinez, just saying. I am positive this song is pretty much about some child predator that sees Crybaby and wants to take her an, well, you know . . . he just doesn't know what he's in for. She's fucking insane herself. (Listen to Milk and Cookies and you'll understand what I mean.)

Cry baby(Melanie Martinez) gets stalked for a while by this weird (wolf) guy. Eventually, the wolf guy chases her down and catches her. The wolf guy used candy to bribe her in to getting in the van? Whatever the wolf guy was driving. Cry baby used her smarts and ran away "through the parking lot" she says "he chased me and he wouldn't stop" they were playing a cruel game of tag. I'm not very good at interpretations so this might get a lot of hates. The only other thing I have to say is,"I have a theory that Benny from little game is Melanie's brother."

When the “wolves,” as Melanie calls them, see that Cry Baby is single, they come hunting. “Tag, You’re It” is an incredibly dark song about a man pushing Cry Baby down, poisoning her, and taking her home. This dark tale is nearly a rape story and the emotion in Melanie’s voice, brings Cry Baby’s fear to life.

She gets kidnapped.

It's about Cry Baby (Melanie Martinez) being kidnapped. She was being stalked for a bit then the guy finds her and is chasing her down as he tried to kidnap her. He is doing the stereotypical stranger stuff (offering stuff to get in his van). He chose one girl to kidnap and it was Cry Baby. In the second part of the refrain she is saying how she wants someone to rescue her. Anyway that's my interpretation, no hate please!

She is a normal girl, and this guy has been stalking her for a while. He finally tries to get him to go with her in his car, bribing her with treats, but she runs away, and the man is playing a sick game of tag. He catches her, probably to eat her... Sick, right? There's probably more to it, but that's the main idea.

It's about a wolf who kidnaps Melanie, possibly to cook and eat. It's basically the Big bad Wold, a bit like the Little Red Riding Hood story. In the song Milk and Cookies, she has come up with a clever plan. She is going to poison the wolf who kidnapped her.

This song is about her encounter with a man who "had his eye out for a little while." She tried to get away from him. But he catches her anyway, hence the title "Tag You're It".
