This is about only being seen as someone that can be used for sexual pleasure rather than being seen as a person with emotions and personality and how people try to gaslight you into loving them and are not looking for personality, but for the prettiest external appearance. The theme of this song also appears to be about empowerment and self-worth and the lyrics imply a confidence in one's own body and a refusal to be objectified or reduced to a mere sexual object for someone else's pleasure. The lyrics also suggest that Melanie is aware of her worth and she is not willing to settle for anything less than she deserves, despite the distractions and games played by others. Also, This the only song on PORTALS to be co-written by Kinetics & One Love. And on that note, this may be the earliest song written for PORTALS, as Tunnel Vision was leaked in March 2021, with Melanie also going on to reveal that as being the year the song was composed.
