Shinedown: Enemies Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Enemies Lyrics
There's not a moment to spare
Quite a drop from the top
To where you're feeling down there
It's a cold, cruel, harsh reality
Caught, stuck, here with your enemies
Who do you think you are!
Tearing us all apart
Where did...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think this song is referring to someone who did something very backhanded, and it turned their friends and family against them. Now they're looked down on, and the song is essentially saying that soon they'll get what they deserve for doing that, and that the people they used to be close to now hate them as a result. Their deeds made them enemies who are out to get them.

Politicans and taxes.

I think it is a person speaking to his/herself.
At one point, towards the end, the multi-personality in this person is exposed but doesn't get so separate completely from the sane side. The song ends, "But you'll get nothing from me, But enemies, Enemies, Enemies," here the person has calmed down and comes back to his/her senses. I interpret the ending as the person telling his/her negative side: "You will not get the best of me." -
Maybe it's addressed to those crazy dictators out there ;)
