Simple Man Lyrics

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It will help you some sunny day.
Take your time... don’t live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a...

This song is about how complicated everything has gotten, and how you need to take life slowly. You will face problems, but they will pass. And you don't have to be famous or rich or be a muscle-head. Just be who you are, and you'll find a girlfriend and you will both be happy. Just be simple.

The man's mother told her son to come sit beside her when he was young. His mother taught him many life lessons. If he listened it will help him sometime in his life. She tells him exactly as it says Oh, take your time... Don't live too fast, Troubles will come and they will pass. You'll find a woman and you'll find love and don't forget there is someone up above(God). She's also saying that if he listens to what she says then it will make life simple and make him a better person. Then with the lust for a rich man's gold is saying don't think of money first. And anything that he will need in life is in his soul. All she wants him to do is try and be satified in life. She tells him also that he will find hisself if he follows his heart, lord and nothing else. So just be a simple man.

My interpretation of Lynyrd Skynyrds' song "Simple Man" is Ronnie VanZants' memory of a simpler life as his parents knew it. But being wrapped up in MCA business just never let him return. Shinedown gets too much credit for their all too similar yet overly forced quasi blues intonations that scream spin-off/ rip off. How is it that So many fans have no idea where this song actually came from but Shinedown uses it to remember Dimebag? That's worse than re-giving a present that you have no real understanding of it's use or value... but don't worry...someone will be fooled into thanking you for such a thoughtful gift. Simple Man...Thanks Skynyrd

They are from the Florida panhandle(Blountstown),not too far from Jacksonville.Im sure the Lynyrd Skynyrd legacy is still strong in that area, and transcends generations, leading to a young Florida band to cover Simple Man.Here in central Florida its the same.
