Sia: Chandelier Meaning
Song Released: 2014
Chandelier Lyrics
Can't feel anything, when will I learn
I push it down, push it down
I'm the one "for a good time call"
Phone's blowin' up, they're ringin' my doorbell
I feel the love, feel the love
1,2,3 1,2,3 drink
1,2,3...

There is really only 2 stanzas that represent the meaning of the song. The rest is the chorus about coping about the results of the behavior depicted in those stanzas.
I think the first is about 1 night stands and her realizing that she portrays herself as a "party girl" but she is not true to her heart.
The second is her conscience surfacing with the morning light. The rest is how she handles getting drunk and pushing the limits of her ethics.
Then again, I was an abnormal psychologist & philosphy major. -

I think this song is about how her parents never cared for her as a child. They never thought to feed her or buy her new clothes or take care of their house. And that they could never afford to because they spent all their money on alcohol. So she just kind of had to take care of herself. THIS IS WHY PARENTS TAKE CARE OF THEIR KIDS!!! (And I'm not saying every parent is like this)

I think the song is about wanting to be accepted socially and mentally. Just listen to it closely...
Then you'll understand why I hear it that way. -
As a hardcore Sia fan, I have my own idea for what is is about.
Sia used to be depressed and she drank a lot of alcohol and did drugs. She attempted suicide, but she found a 12-step program.
Anyways, to the song: The part in the video where Maddie Ziegler (the dancer) was putting the curtains around her neck, was "hanging" herself. -
I see this song about a girl who is abusing drugs and addicted to alcohol. The video seems to be about this little girl who was all alone in her house because her parents are gone a lot and she abuses these drugs and alcohol because she is depressed and alone and needs something to numb the pain. The little girl is also trying to entertain herself by dancing and expressing her feelings through these dance routines.

Drink to cover problems.
party to hold on life, but the party has to stopbefore or after. It doesnt last forever.Realeases her inihibitions with alcohol (swinging from the chandelier)Getloose and temporarly forget about all the shit.
this is one of the very least commercial music that I'm addicted to.
feel the love, the atmosphere, the ambience. But it is not a real love. She misleads it for people's exciteness for partying.Sorry for mistakes.Just wanted to leave some thoughts.I liked some of the other interpretations.
I'm gonna live like tomorrow gives another chance.. -
The song is about suicide and drinking.

Headcanon- The little girl is a ghost who haunts the empty apartment. Her mom was an alcoholic who murdered her and the girl finally feels she is free. Free from her mother's abuse and alcoholism.

To swing in the chandelier represent trying to avoid self destruction, the pain and feel lonely, by doing crazy things, or drink.
But the song express different phases of this way to self destruction, and finally the shame that only cures with the full glass, that will keep her alive until the night, when it all begins again and again. -

I think anyone who has ever felt empty can relate to this song. She feels dead inside and keeps doing these things to make her feel alive; but they do not work. She's used by others because she plays off her hurt and acts like she doesn't care when in reality she's barely hanging on. She wants to be free, she wants to let go, she wants to feel something worth living for. Like the music video shows, she goes through many motions. It's as if her facade is driving her insane. If she can just make it through the night, she'll be a better/new person tomorrow; she'll find a way to survive.
