Saviors of the World Lyrics

Streets filled with blood, black and red
Dreams and hearts that once knew love are cold and dead

Breathing rust, it's come to this
We burnt to dust, an apocalypse
But we could live again if we can find ourselves

We are the saviors of the...

I believe that this song is saying that in a sense the Church is the savior of the world. Not in the same way Jesus is by any means, but it also recognizes that we can't sit around and do nothing waiting for the second coming. We have a job to do and the elite ruling class of the world has destroyed the planet and it's our job as "kings and conquerers" (two things the Bible says Christians are by the way) to help bring the Kingdom of God on earth.
While this song may seem "man centered" it certainly doesn't fit with the rest of the album. For example in Get out of Hell it says "only You can get me out of hell." and then there's that whole song about the One who Holds the Stars an obvious reference to God.

Well when i first heard it I just assumed it meant about 'saving' others by leading them to christ. I looked up the lyrics to the song to see them more closely, they looked a bit dodgy, and then when i realised, it is in fact about leading others to christ.

How a person interprets this song just shows the condition of their own heart, not the artists. The artist's foundation is Romans 8:38-39. You can find this fact stated by him in interviews he has done. It's also no secret Skillet's band members are Christian.

Yet, Skillet does something amazing. They appeal to believers and unbelievers alike. Skillet's music may not always be in your face Christian music, mentioning God or Jesus every other verse, but there is no denying it, Skillet's music is Christian to the core. What a person understands or fails to understand about the lyrics is due to their own Biblical knowledge and/or their relationship with God.

Skillet fills an important niche. They grab the attention of unbelievers and put them on a path to God, whether the listener realizes it or not. And Skillet sends Christians, already on a path with God, searching for more. Skillet is like a cairn in the wilderness. That's a special kind of band in my opinion.

How a person interprets this song, or other Skillet songs, just shows the condition of their own heart - by the wayside, on stony ground, amongst the thorns or in good soil. The interpretation will change as the heart condition changes. If they think this song is about burning down the world and the rise of self, then they're probably by the wayside. If they immediately don't identify themselves as the Savior of the world, know the Savior of the world and also acknowledge their Savior gave them a way to live amongst the chaos bringing hope to others, then they're probably in good soil. If their interpretation is somewhat in the middle, then they're probably on stony ground or amongst the thorns.

Think about that for a moment the next time you listen to Saviors of the World. This song says a lot about a you and your relationship with God.

First of all,It doesn't point out any specific religion,
This song tells how people rise and fall,How dreams come true.We can find ourselves so as to stand up to the world and not to be under anyone's control,Our life is ours only.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Could also be about misguided modern day fools who mean well by their believed ''good works'' that would save the world. By such things, when working in jobs to stop the unnatural climate change that They[the Saviors] think is a man made phenomena, that extremely changes the weather towards a world catastrophe. A world in need to be saved according to these fools. Which would make Them feel good, to power their beliefs and ideals to become the ''Saviors of the World''. Where they're also in rebellion and fighting against the Elite Ruling Class who They[the saviors] believe are destroying the world that They wanna save. But as we know as true Christians there is only one true ''Savior'' that has the power to save the World from ''our sins that pollute our souls and the planet Earth, and His name is Jesus Christ who was, who is, and who always will be the one and only true ''Savior'' over the other meaning well Saviors that Profitized on their works to save the World.

Saviors of the World is referring to the Christians of the world, and how we are to spread the message of Christ, thus helping to save souls in this broken and dark world.

Saviours of the world is a very powerful song because it's saying that no one can tell you what to do or what to believe and that loads of other people are in the same position so we should all unite to fight for what is right. Well that's what I think the song means.
