Song Released: 2006
Whispers in the Dark Lyrics
Your love is mine for the taking
My love is just waiting
To turn your tears to roses
Despite the lies that you're making
Your love is mine for the taking
My love is just waiting
To turn your tears to...

#1 top rated interpretation:This song is definitely not about lovers. Skillet is a little known Christian band that floats on the edge of Christian genre. Therefore, this song is god's letter to us, his children, expressing his love and commitment to us. when it says "your love is mine for the taking" he is stating that he deserves our love, and all of it but he will not take it from us because he wants us to give it willingly to him or it means nothing. also, when it mentions he will "turn your tears to roses" it is the classic concept of god working all things for good, despite the pain. This entire song is littered with lyrics congruent to these reinstating what god feels for us, that is why it seems to be a love song because god loves us,in a way that is relateable to our romantic relationships only because we can't fully fathom his perfect and unconditional love.

First we must consider how similar the story in this song is to Christ’s love for His Church and that may be the reason it sounds like a love song almost like one between a husband and wife and that is a good thing, it can be interpreted as a Christian song or not of course I find the Biblical Easter Eggs give the song a more personal meaning

It has to do with baptism in a since.
-
It's about God's unconditional love for all of humanity and how He cares for all, despite the fact we sin and are not perfect.

No matter how bad you feel, no matter how sad you are, your friend is always going to be there for you. Even if they aren't really TH err e

This is about God, he practically say's to us that we're never alone and he would light up the sky for us and that his love never ends and never stops because he IS love
-
It is a letter from God to us. God is telling us how much he loves us no matter how much we lie and turn away from him.

look on the second page of what i said in monster if your going to start a fight when i post this it could be christian but just because they are religous dosen't mean this song is but it could be it is how U inturpit the song and the impact it has on u

Basically this is how the song comes to me as.
A song about lovers or those who are in a relationship where one is in pain, feeling so alone yet while the hero of the song does try to take away all that pain and to protect his or her love, defending and such really because i do think this song would make a good theme for a battle to reclaim what one loves the most. a dark miracle of sorts -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

Just because Skillet is a Christian band, doesn't mean that the song itself is based around God. It could easily be about love. Not every song by them is religious, like Monster, or The Last Night. It could easily be about two lovers, and one isn't able to constantly be with the other.

I think this song is about a man telling a woman that he will be there to comfort her when she needs it.
