   I think this song is about how he is falling in sin and he wants to stop sinning. He doesn't want to be alone in sin or maybe in a sinful world. He says, "Don't leave me alone
   Cause I barely see at all." He may mean that he like I said before doesn't want to be alone in a sinful world. "Don't leave me alone, I'm
   Falling in the black." He is saying he doesn't want God to leave him when he falls in sin. "Slipping through the cracks." He is going in sin. "Falling to the depths can I ever go back
   Dreaming of the way it used to be
   Can you hear me?" He may be asking himself if he can stop sinning and never sin again. He is dreaming on the way how he never sinned and he is asking God for forgiveness and he is asking if God can even hear his apologizes or if God even forgives him.

   I believe this song is about a person falling into the darkness, or black, of sin, and they are wondering if they will ever find their way out.

   John Cooper is a Christian, and has a Christian band. With that in mind, it's clear that this dobby is about being stuck in sin, but wanting to stop and have a relationship with God. Paired with Rebirthing and Whispers in The Dark, it has a strong Message which is that no matter how stuck or lonely or lost you feel, if you turn to God He will accept you and comfort you.

   I think it's about someone going through a really dark time, like a mental nightmare. And they don't want their only favorite person to leave. They only person that ever cared. Then they hurt them.

   I personally think it's about a person going through a dark time in their life from a now neglecting partner. They're going through a rough patch and falling inside a dark mental state from not getting the love or support they used to get.

   The longer this keeps going on, the deeper they fall into the black abyss. They want the old lover back. They want the (What seemed to be like) caring, kind, person back. But their lover can't hear their cries for help and they stay neglecting them.

   This song is about a guy who might be married or had a domestic partner. The girl left him or they are still together but the love of the girl for him, is already gone and she is cold to him.

   IDK, for me this song explained how I was acting when my x moved to california for job corps and she dumped me.
   I started treating people badly, I yelled at my parents and disobeyed them and even got kicked out of school at least five times in the short five months she was gone.
   I was quite litterally falling inside the black and I almost fell six feet deep in it, as I almost killed myself by slitting my wrists because I couldn't live without her, and I'm still falling.

   I feel like maybe what he means in this song is about losing the one he loves and dosent want her to leave like in the part of the song saying "you are my source of strength, ive tradded everything i love for this one thing" maybe hes scares of losing her like when he says "dont leave me alone" or getting over her like when he says " its better to scream or be missed" at least thats my take on it.

    I think that the lyrics of the song are inspired by his relationship with someone else in his life. For examle my life (yeah kinda "edgy"). And that someone was so special that s/he was his reasons to live life until that moment
