Sleeping with Sirens: A Trophy Father's Trophy Son Meaning
Song Released: 2011
A Trophy Father's Trophy Son Lyrics
Its been hell not having you here
I've been missing you so bad
And you don't seem to care
When I go to sleep at night, you're not there
When I go to sleep at night, do you care?
Do you even...

#1 top rated interpretation:The song is about Kellin's two step sons, Rowan and Liam. They grew up without a father, and the song is supposed to be about what it felt like from their perspective.

#2 top rated interpretation:this song is about kellins dad never being there for him because he left them. he thinks its his fault
-
It’s about his dad leaving him when he was a child, and him blaming himself. Which my oldest sister did when our dad left, my middle sister got mad at him, and I didn’t think anything of it not realizing what was happening. But all of us did blame ourselves a little in the end, expetually when we got a step-dad a few years later and he left. It truly hurts a child to go through this, which is why I relate to this song so much.

I feel like this song is about kellin and his father not being there for him when he was younger. I also feel like its his way saying that he blames himself. Like when he says "why are you walking away? was it something I did? did I make a mistake cause...", he is blaming himself by asking if he did something wrong even though he probably didn't.
-
I think this is about your father not being there for you when you need him.And the whole time you're wondering what you did wrong.I can relate to this song 100%.
-
This song is about not havng your father there for you, and you just want to figure out what his purpose for leaving you was. I understood what this song meant as soon as I heard the first verse and chorus.
-
I believe that this song is about Kellin's father not being there for him when he was young, since his dad left them. I'm so sorry, Kellin.
-
Is it bad that the first time I heard this song I understood everything... I miss my old man:(
-
