Sleeping with Sirens: Free Now Meaning
Free Now Lyrics
sometimes I feel he never gave a damn about me,
Though he raised me like he should did he understand me no I don't think so,
I wrote this song for my mother,
she had to leave me when I was younger,
She said...

I think it’s about how kellin’s Father left him and now that he has a daughter he doesn’t want to make that same mistake and free now lyrics refers to how he doesn’t have to suffer the regret of having no father
-
I think the meaning is about Kellin having a bad relationship and he wants to make amends with his father and mother. I also think he when he says "free to live without my fears" means that he is free to be who he is.
-
I feel that Kellin is relating to his life from when he was a child, his father wasnt always there and his mother lived in California, but in his eyes he's free from fights and arguements.
He wants to be good for his daughter Copeland who he loves very much, he doesn't want to do the mistake his mother and father did, he wants to be a father he wants to be.
He wants to be a man who will always be there and will love patiently. -
One way I interpreted it was Kellins mother was sexually abused by her father in her youth, resulting in Kellins birth.
Having the knowledge of what his father did, and now being a father himself, he's promising himself and his daughter that he'll break the cycle of abuse, and wishing the rest of world will follow suite. -
I think Free Now is about the feelings people (like Kellin) have about their parents. It talks about how the family falls apart and how that strength of being left makes you power through the hurt and just want to make sure that doesn't happen to the new generation coming in. The quote "sometimes good things fall apart so better things can come together" come to mind because sometimes a family falls apart so a better one can come together or you can start your own better family when you grow older.
