Taylor Swift: Mean Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Mean Lyrics
You have knocked me off my feet again, got me feeling like a nothing
You, with your voice like nails on a chalkboard calling me out when I'm wounded
You, picking...
-
I think it means that we must not make fun of others or humiliating them just for our sake
-
This is about girls in school who were mean to her when she was a kid.
-
guys, do some research. mean is about a certain blogger, who I will not name, that used to be a really big fan, but then he started blogging really mean stuff about her and her singing. so she made 'mean'
-
it is about the people who criticize her ( haters, media) and she will probably be famous someday (which she reallhy is now)
-
This song's meaning is that we shouldn't be be down when people are mean to us because of our dreams. Always remember that you can reach your dreams if you work hard for it.
-
it is about a blogger who was a supporter of her but then started to say really mean things.
-
It's about a girl who was bullying her in school.
-
Mean is a response to people who constantly criticize whatever she does. she wrote the song to get back at her critics, Swift also wished that the song would appeal to people of all ages in different situations this song was about feeling small because of somebody else.
-
I think this song is about how those boys underestimate a girl's capabilities.
This guy, tortured, humiliated, ignored and demotivated her to a sick level.
But she maintained her cool, as she had this in mind, that the world does not accept these kind of people. She says that I will be successful someday, everybody would chant my name, and you would be sitting out there in a club, lonely, shouting out your opinion. But sigh, no body listens to mean people :)
She said this song which was synonymous to a
'Ha' :D -
I think she is saying that just because you are "cool" in high school doesn't mean your life is going to be perfect. Karma's a bitch and will bite you in the back. Good things come to those who wait.
-
I think this song is about her dad, like he keeps abusing her and telling her she cant do things and in this song I think she is telling you that she can do those things and that he is worng.Because you never really hear anything about her dad.
-
There was a man sometime early in her career. He didn't like the idea that a 14 year old was getting paid to write songs and gave her bad reviews (You with your words like knives and swords and weapons that you use against me.)
-
This song isn't about a breakup or a relationship, it's purely about how struggles on the road can really bring a person down, but it's also about how she fights back against all the the bad things going on, and how she comes out on top.
-
I'm sure she has her own interpretation, my friend just got a record deal and I always think of her, because she will soon be famous and her dad always put her down and told her she couldn't sing to get a real career and he was very abusive.... this song just fit her life so much, its like it was written for her.... glad many people can relate to it in their own ways...
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
