Taylor Swift: Mean Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Mean Lyrics
You have knocked me off my feet again, got me feeling like a nothing
You, with your voice like nails on a chalkboard calling me out when I'm wounded
You, picking...
-
I think this song is about a boy or a man that bothered her when she was a child, I mean like bulling or something lke that, (picking on the weaker man)...and that when he was with her he made her feel like she was nothing and when he heard her singing he said that she sucked and that she'd never reach her dreams and I guess Taylor wants to make him know through this song that she knows that he regrets he could've been nice at her and that now things are different and that he cannot make fun of her anymore :)
-
I think this song goes out to a male for some odd reason
-
I think it's targeted towards the media, but also maybe towards someone who betrayed her, because in the booklet that comes with the lyrics, the capitalized letters spell out 'I thought you got me' so it's as if she trusted someone and they betrayed her or bullied her, probably against her singing.
-
This song is about people who are being mean to her ;)
-
I think this song is about the record label guys in Nashville who didn't sign her when she was 11. According to Wiki, she sent a tape to every record label in Nashville but was rejected by all of them.
It's like she's telling them that someday she'll get a big record deal and she'll be "living in a big ole city" and they're still gonna be where they are...
When she sings "you have pointed out my flaws again, as if i don’t already see them", it's like they're telling her where she's going wrong with her singing/playing/etc.
Either that, or it's about bullying! -
It's actually about a guy who made fun of Taylor because he didn't like her singing.
-
i think this song is about how Kayne west interrupted her thank you speech after accepting her award
-
i think this song is written to the media. it's saying that people telling her she can't sing isn't getting to her and that she's gonna prove herself
