Taylor Swift: Mean Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Mean Lyrics
You have knocked me off my feet again, got me feeling like a nothing
You, with your voice like nails on a chalkboard calling me out when I'm wounded
You, picking...

I think the song 'Mean' is addressed to all of Taylor's haters. 'Rumbling all about how I can't sing' A lot of people have said that Taylor swift can't really sing. Although many people have a lot of different opinions this stood out to Taylor and probably hurt her. So she is addressing her haters saying that they are 'all you are is mean, and a liar, and pathetic, and alone in life, and mean.'

i think it is based off of 1 of her boy friends that broke up with her 4 a prettier girl but that is just my opinion

It's about bullying.
-
In Her Album 'Speak Now' she said the song was to a man she was scared of. He put her down, and killed her spirit. Then one day, she woke up and wasn't scared of him anymore. She threw him out of her life to show him how she felt.

In Her Album 'Speak Now' she said the song 'Mean' was an unsent letter to a man she was once scared of.

I can't help but wonder if it is about her father. You never see him or hear anything about him, her mother is always with her. a lot of fathers make fun,of their children's talent and their dreams. Maybe he was abusive. "Some day I'll be big enough so you can't hit me"....?
-
I think she is trying to say if anybody bully you, you have to show them great success and make them regret...
-
i thimk mean is about all the kids that are bullied in school and they feel as if no one cares but they know that they will be living in a bic city and living their dream.

It's about John Mayer. She talked about it in a magazine article. He is the one who says she couldn't sing. They dated bright I believe. The song Back to December is about Taylor Lautner. There is another song account another guy but I don't know who that one is about. She said that if someone deserved an apology they would get it and that is what the back to December is about. Not sure what magazine it on but it was a while ago and I do remember reading it.

It's about how she was bullied in high school but she did something with her life and made a name for herself.so it doesn't matter what they think now because they're just losers, just mean and aren't gonna do the great things she's done.also when it says "i bet you got pushed around somebody made you cold but the cycle ends right now cause you can't lead me down that road"-it's how many bullies were bullied themselves and this leads them to bully others, but she's not going to become like them and keep the cycle going just because she's been hurt-she's gonna make a name for herself. And all they'll ever be is mean.
-
This song is about how mean people are to her. That she is judged by not only the media but people everywhere every day. Also that she knows that she will always be a bigger person and get the good things in life while they are just stuck without anywhere to go and the part that goes "I can see you years from now in a bar talking over a football game..." that part says that people will get tired of how that person or people keep saying. This doesn't only have to be about her every one has someone that is mean to them and they know that they'll get something better out of life than the person that was "mean"

Isn't it obvious? Taylor Swift was bullied in her high school years for wanting to be famous. She probably wrote this song back then and decided to publish it now. Also hence when it says 'someday i’ll be living in big ole city and all you’re ever
gonna be is mean someday i’ll be big enough so you can’t hit me and all you’re ever gonna be is mean why you gotta be so mean'. She is pointing out how the kids at her school were bulling her and that she will be big one day. Which she is :P
