Airplanes, in my opinion that song means that when you don’t do anything to chase your dreams. You’re just sitting there quietly not doing anything to achieve them. We let them pass by, the opportunities were not trying to reach for goes by. Nothing would happen til you put your plans to motion. Most o there lives they’ve not done anything about it til they did and achieved massive success.

I think this song is about doing something with your life hence the beginning and the talk about airplanes and sirens are metaphors for their determination and confedence that they will achieve their goals
This could be about the band too because calum said that he “wanted a way out of a normal life” and this could be about their determination to make it and the “we’ll never die” line is about becoming imortal through their music
