Good Girls Lyrics
(Do, do do, do do, do do)
[Michael:]
She's a good girl, she's daddy's favorite
He's saved for Harvard, he knows she'll make it
She's good at school, she's never truant
She can speak French, and I think she's fluent
[Calum:]
'Cause...

First of all, lemmie tell you about how they aren't talking about her dad if ya know what I mean. Second of all, WELL SHIT IF MICHAEL FREAKING CLIFFORD WAS MY BOYFRIEND ID BE DADDY'S FAVORITE TOO OKAY
"She can speak French, and I think she's fluent"
FOR THISE OF YOU WHO DIDNT KNOW:: 'she can speak French' is an expression that actually means she sucks rlly good dick so.. 'I think she's fluent' well basically she's a slut behind her parents backs so I mean.
The chorus is pretty damn explainable if you ask me but.
"I swear she lives in that library, cuz if you ask her she'll say 'that's where you'll find me' but if you look then you will find her there, she may be clever but she just acts to square cuz in the back of the room where nobody looks, she'll be with her boyfriend, she's not reading books.."
THIS IS A STRAIGHT BUILD UP PEOPLE. If you ask her she'll tell you she lives in the library, IN THE BACK OF IT WHERE SHE SUCKS HER BOYFRIENDS DICK AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT AND SHES OFFERING TO SUCK OFF OTHER PEOPLE I CANT MAKE THUS ANY CLEARER IM ALMOST CRYING WRITING THIS THE FEELS ARE SO STRONG. ;)
"She's a good girl, hasn't been caught (x2)"
Well u see, her parents have absolutely no clue what a slut their daughter is and she's also just an ass kisser, literally she kisses the ground her boyfriend walks on, she's such a kiss up to him so he'll fuck her good later on, HER PARENTS ARE SO OBLIVIOUS AND OH MY GOD HER BOYFRIEND LOVES HER TO DEATH BC SHES SUCH A KISS UP BUT DAMN SHES GOOD IN BED and you're welcome for this because I rlly feel strongly that u all needed this I yur lives :) yur welcome :) -

#2 top rated interpretation:This song is basically about how the girls parents, teachers, and basically everyone thinks she's the "good girl" always studying and doing HW. Reading in the library at school. Etc. but secretly no ones knows that she isn't studying or "she's not reading books" instead she's with her boyfriend sneaking out and yeah that's pretty much the song :)

Are we not going to acknowledge the Ashton daddy kink reference at the beginning of the song? Lol
-
It’s about a girl that is very good at school. She is smart. She could go to Harvard. She is daddy’s favorite. And might seem very sweet to others. But she might have a naughty side. She actually has a boyfriend. And they might like to have casual sex a lot. But basically the theme is that smart girls that seem perfect and would never do anything wrong can have fun and let loose. I really relate to this song. I’m very intelligent and I am always one of the best when it comes to school. But I swear and i am not perfect. But everyone thinks I am.

I just wanna say to who ever said that they think the fans of the song are people who are intimidated by the people with a 4.0 gpa:
A lot of people who are doing great in school like this song, including me. I'm not intimidated at all by people with 4.0 gpas. I love this song because it gives girls an empowering message. It presents this girl who's parents and teachers think is great. But, in the end, she does all these things that society would consider 'bad'.
So the song is shooting down the 'good girl' stereotype by saying that this girl that everyone sees as 'good' is not as 'perfect' as her teachers believe.
"Girls can have fun too it doesn't make them 'bad' girls."
You're right, but in most societies girls are held to that expectation by their parents and teachers. The song is saying that if we were going to go by the greater percent of parent's beliefs, a lot of what the 'good' girl is doing is bad.
I like it because it gives me confidence when I feel against myself, not because I'm 'intimidated by people with a 4.0 gpa'. -
If you haven't gone deeper (aha) into the meaning of the words then you wouldn't of figured that the whole song basically says that..
There's a girl (der) and her parents, teachers and pretty much everyone is oblivious to the fact she isn't the good girl they think she is. The girl is actually bad she sneaks around with her boyfriend having sex and offering it to others too the library is the place she does this as it mentions. When it says "she can speak French, I think she's fluent" it means she sucks dick really well and she's done it a lot. Oh and before I forget in the lines "she's a good girl, she's daddy's favourite" don't take it literal it means she's her boyfriends favourite cause she praises him like nothing else.
**this song is one of my favourite songs and don't take my judgement literal the band might of meant the lyrics to give a different vibe but this is what I got out of it** -
So sad that you're taking the song literally. The song doesn't tell us that "hanging out with your boyfriend makes you a bad girl."
" She's a good girl, she's daddy's favorite. He saved for Harvard, he knows she'll make it. She's good at school. She's never truant. She can speak french, i think she's fluent."
These lines describes a girl that other girls would tend to envy. When someone starts to envy, it's because of insecurities, and the root of insecurity is low self- esteem.
"She said to me, forget what you thought. Cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught."
But nobody's perfect! So why envy? "GOOD GIRLS ARE BAD GIRLS THAT HAVEN'T BEEN CAUGHT..." The girl that seemed to be perfect have revealed it's flaws. Sometimes, we tend to overlook at imperfections because we are too busy admiring the good side. As it was said, "every girl have two sides..." and it's up to them what to show and what to hide. On this song, the girl choose to portray a good girl but can't walk away with the fact that there's a "naughty" side of her.
So girls, don't drag yourself down just because someone else looks more pretty, smart, classy, etc. EVERYONE HAVE FLAWS. So don't think that she is anything more than you. You alone is simply amazing! :)
**I love this song so much so don't let this suck by giving interpretations that sound like simply telling that a banana's color is yellow. I mean, don;t take the lyrics literally. Okay?** -
OKAY.SO NO ONE IS REALLY GETTING THIS. I cant believe no one has still objected here. Why does hanging out with your boyfriend makes you a bad girl? why does doing all that stuff that boys do (if they do it they are nothing more than'normal') but for girls; they are 'bad'. It sounds like the stereotypical prejudice for girls who are better than boys, specially at school. All that Harvard and 'fluent French' references. So the girl is better at her studies? and you are like 'she must have a weakness, Oh she has a boyfriend, oh she's kissing him. Now lets call her a bad girl'
Girls can have fun too, doesnt make them 'bad' girls. I think the fans of this song are all those kids who are intimidated by 4.o GPA perfect GPAs girls, and this song gives them a satisfaction by telling them that they are not actually that 'good'. What a fucked up generation. -
its saying that there is a good girl, shes actually pretty naughty is a "good girl" but never ever gets caught XP
-
Its good song. And explains about a girl with naughty behaviour.Cool thing is that, the girl has never been caught.®
-
It's about a girl who seems like a perfect girl who never gets in trouble, but does bad things and doesn't get caught :)
-
