Song Released: 2013
Try Hard Lyrics
The colors in her hair don't seem to fade
I get dressed up when I go out but she gets dressed down
She's 17, I've told her I'm 20
I couldn't take her out, 'cause Mom's got no...

#1 top rated interpretation:This song is about Luke Hemmings liking a girl who he thinks is cool and he tried to actually get the girl's attention. The girl did not like him anyway so Luke decided to have lip piercing, losing his true self on the way. Because of this, the girl thought that Luke was so weirdo she just stayed away from him. Thinking that they will never be together, Luke decided to let things be, formed a band and became really famous. In one of their concerts, he saw the same girl he liked before on the front row. She became his fan.
good thing luke did not settle for her...
there you go guys... -

#2 top rated interpretation:This is about a guy who fell in love with I think a popular girl that is kinda dumb lol and the guy is trying to get the attention of the girl by trying to be cool and in the end he is messed up coz she thinks he is weird for being such a stalker but in the end the guy got a band and finally the girl became a fan of him (tho it is not clearly stated there)
After I heard this song Luke is the first one popped out in my mind because it is stated in the song's lyrics that the guy had pierce in his lip (which he have) and also he got a cool band~ just my interpretation xD -
I believe this song is about a boy that is hopelessly in love with a girl that hardly knows he exists. He does all of this to try and look cool for the girl but ends up just looking a fool in front of her. He talks about how 'he plays guitar but she's into drummers' possibly as he is in a band and she is dating or in love with the drummer for his band.
That is just my interpretation, not sure if everyone thinks of it like this, so don't give any hate -
"I pierced my lips so she thinks i'm cool", that's sooo about Luke especially "I play guitar but she's into drummers", that references Luke who plays guitar and ashton who plays the drums. and at a certain point Luke said he dropped out of school for a while so if this song isn't about him then i'm really confused
-
hahah it's not an interpretation really but I caught my friend chatting with a stranger in Omegle.
They both love penguins, and she said she's 17 that actually she's only 14. okay now don't believe me, I don't care.
She is my bestfriend and she like piercing because in her eyes it looks cool. we both are. heheh
So I guess that's my only interpretation :) -
The guy is trying to impress the girl who is the polar opposite to him. She is leaving school because she doesn't have the grades whereas he drops out of school to impress her.

This song is about a guy who falls in love with a girl that is a lot different than he is, so he starts to change who he is to try and impress this girl. Along the way he ends up loosing himself and realizes that he is trying WAYYYY to hard to get this girl. So he gives up because she obviously isn't interested in him. But in the end, she ends up finding out HES a cool guy.
-
This is about a guy falling for a girl; but he acts not himself to impress& it is telling you don't try and act someone your not; Just act yourself!

In the end he just acts himself and she is there to see... -
