5 Seconds of Summer: Hey Everybody! Meaning
Song Released: 2015
Hey Everybody! Lyrics
She pays for gas with all the change in her car
It's not the end of the road
Yeah, we've all been there before and it goes oh
He's walking home cause he can't pay for the bus
He needs a dollar...

This song is about the failure of capitalism. Idk how people interpret it any different. In a capitalist society it's hard to find jobs. And even if you do have a job, it may not be giving you a fair pay that you can live comfortably with. That's why many Americans have to have multiple jobs just to survive.
-
It’s about people have little to no money but they have to be positive. The music video shared the same message.

Personally I think this song is about people with very little money but they all have jobs and even though they only have a little bit of money they keep working at the job they have and eventually work their way up. I think this song is saying that if we don't give up then we can all make it big.
-
I think this song is about people who don't have a lot of money but eventually work their way up and become successful in life. It's telling us that we all have a shot to make it big, but if we give up the we won't get there.
