Afterlife Lyrics
So unsure but it seems, cause weve been waiting for you
Fallen into this place, just giving you a small taste
Of your afterlife here so stay, you'll be back here soon anyway

I think this song is about someone losing a loved one. He traveled into the afterlife to save her. He is shocked at how amazing it is. "Like walking into a dream". "Just giving you a small taste of your afterlife here so stay, you'll be back here soon". Everyone in the afterlife is trying to convince him to stay because he will be back anyway. "such a surreal place, how did this come to be; arrived to early" means that he Is in the afterlife but he shouldn't be because he isn't dead yet. "And when I think of all the places I don't belong, I've come to grips with lifeand realize this is going too far" shows that of all the places he shouldn't be he knows this is th worst. The chorus is about him pleading to god to let him and his loved one escape from the afterlife. The second verse is when he realizes that his loved one is dead and he can't take her back. "Give me your hand but realize I just want to say good bye, please understand I have to leave and carry on my own life" is when he tells his loved one that she can't come back with him. "This place full of peace and light, I'd hoped that you might take me back inside when the time is right is when he is asking god to let him backto the afterlife when he dies a real death. "Loved ones back home all crying cause they're already missing me. I pray by the grace of God that there's somebody listening. Give me a chance to be that person I wanna be" is when he is begging god to let him back. "I'm choking on this ecstasy" is when he is telling god that the afterlife us so good that is too much for him.
This is my first review so it isn't that good but I suppose a song's meaning varies from person to person so... Hope you like it. -
I think this song's about how someone comes close
to death and realises that he's not ready to go so he
prays to God to give him a second chance to make things right because he realises how bad he messed up..and how much he wants to make things right. Who knows?? The only person who truly knows the real meaning of this is the person who wrote it. Awesome song though..

This is about a man who joins his woman in the Afterlife, but realizes that it's too early, and he has to go back to Earth to finish what he has to.
"Fallen into this place, just giving you a small taste
of your afterlife here so stay, you'll be back here soon anyway"
Here, it basically says, this is just a sample of the afterlife, when you're done, you will be back soon.
"Such a surreal place to see so how did this come to be
Arrived too early"
Here, it clearly states that he going to the Afterlife too early.
"And when I think of all the places I just don't belong
I've come to grips with life and realize this is going too far"
This is where he realizes that he still has things to do back in real life
"A place of hope and no pain, perfect skies with no rain"
This place sounds like Heaven, which is his Afterlife destination.
"So out of place don't wanna stay, I feel wrong and that's my sign
I've made up my mind"
He feels that it isn't right to stay with her in the Afterlife, so he knows what he has to do, leave.
"Gave me your hand but realize I just wanna say goodbye
Please understand I have to leave and carry on my own life"
His goal the whole time was to leave her behind and not follow her
"Loved ones back home all crying ’cause they're already missing me
I pray by the grace of God that there's somebody listening
Give me a chance to be that person I wanna be
(I am unbroken; I’m choking on this ecstasy)
Oh Lord I'll try so hard but you gotta let go of me
(Unbreak me, unchain me, I need another chance to live)
"
This is the part where he asks God to bring him back to Earth to be the person he was destined to be, plus, his family has missd him dearly, he wouldn't be able to live his life happily knowing that his family would continue to live in sorrow. -
Its shows a message that's like this "live life to the fullest and don't try to lay everything off" it's about a person who dies and realizes that he has not done everything that he wanted/needed to do. So he must now find a way to "escape from this Afterlife"
-
Some guy dies and when he reaches the afterlife he looks back on his life and realizes that he did a load of shit things so he begs the people in the afterlife to let him back to try to sort his life out. You think he's going to be allowed but then at the end of the solo there is mad laughter (The Rev) and he isn't allowed back because his life is over. That's what is says in the making of video.

The song is about a man who dies early and finds himself in heaven. Upon entering, he realizes that he has too many things to do on Earth, and to go back and make it right he has to escape from the afterlife. This was said by Zacky Vengeance in the 'Making of 'Afterlife'' video
-
someone already said it but its definitely not hell.... he didnt finish the things that he needed to do on earth died, got to heaven and now wants to go back to finish what he started
-
I have a magazine with a M shadows interview on afterlife he says it's about a man (not anyone in particular)who has passed away and his soul is in heaven but he feels he's not meant to be there yet nor in hell and at first dosent wanna believe he's actually dead and his life on earth thinks it was cut short and not the right time so always praying and begging to god to give him a second chance to let him escape his afterlife in heaven and continue on with his old one and he shall come back WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT

I think it's about a man whos lover died and passed on into the afterlife.
He gets a chance to see her and at first hes amazed by the sight of the afterlife. He follows the distant light and witnesses the world as its come to be gradually. He then comes to grips with life and realizes this isn't where he belongs. After seeing his lover he knows he must move on and escape from the afterlife. The world is so still with no rain and he knows he'll be back there soon anyways. Then he wants his lover to understand he has to leave and carry on his own life far away from there. He then knows he'll miss her and this place full of peace and life. He wants to return when it is his time. His lover doesn't want him to leave and holds on to him so he hass to ask for her permission to leave and he breaks free from its spirit and he wants to be taken back inside when the time is right.
