SAIL!

This is how i show my love
Made it in my mind because
Blame it on my ADD baby

This is how an angel dies
Blame it on my own sick pride
Blame it on my ADD baby

SAIL!
SAIL!
SAIL!
SAIL!
SAIL!

Maybe i should cry for help...

This video is the singer telling us that he sold his soul to the illuminati for fame. He has been 'illuminated' to the plan/design of this world and its stewards -- and now there is no going back.

The bright lights and the eye of horus(eye of ra/eye of providence) are utilized throughout the video to represent the systems of control, or more specifically -- those who operate at a different level than the rest of us 'sheeple'. They keep a watchful eye over their resources and believe that order can only come out of chaos.

I believe this is why his illuminati handlers support AWOLnation's messages with songs such as 'burn it down' and 'guilty filthy soul'. At any given moment, they like to flood the market with selections of songs/artists that elicit certain emotional responses in the listeners. The same is done with TV and Movies (part of CIA's mk-ultra program, now de-classified).

The green scanning bar represents the tracking, always being monitored in some fashion by his handlers, government, media, the public. He attempts to hide from the scan by hiding in the bathtub of water and thus avoiding the barcode scan.

Finally, the character in the video is conveying the message that the knows a secret that is difficult to bear. He portrays some sort of official or maybe astronaut that is aware of something secret (aliens?) hence the recording device and briefcase of files.

-- Angel dies when someone sells their soul

-- Happens when someone is prideful...and not thinking it through fully

-- Blame it on his ADD! An over-diagnosed disorder that is brought on by too much propaganda machine (TV) and video games. Even words per minute are up dramatically in the last few years in order to avoid people from changing the channel.\

    etc etc

I've studied all of their words. The entire album amounts to a warning for mankind.

I promise you, this is entirely what its about.

    It is about the quickening.

People, there are many musicians trying to warn us about what is coming.

Florence and the machine does the same thing.

There is nothing else to be stated. WAKE UP!

the song as all about aliens, 1st off, the breifcase with gov documents is some sort of high security research, nothing more high secuerity then E.T. then the illumanati pic, illumanati is ran by aliens, advising the gov, wealth everything, hear me out, most ufo sightnings r triangular, illumanati symbol it triangular, also a pyrimid, aliens helped or did build the pyrimds, and the eye, means that theyre above us, always watching ailens..... i beleive illumanati r aliens, then he says this is how an angel flies, even in the bible, tells stories of people coming down from the sky, aliens, our creators E.T... also ADD is like a genetic mutation kinda... us humans r genetically mutated from aliens DNA, and of coure SAIL, like an alien, fly, go, also during the end of the lalala's it sounds like he says the aliens are coming, just my thoughts

I think this song is about drug use. People for years have blames their use of illegal substances on ADD and other types of disorders, including anxiety and paranoia.

"Sail" represents leaving the rational world for a drug induced state where he no longer needs to be worried about anything. He frantically searches the drawer for "papers". The spacesuit is a metaphor for the drugs.

The bottom line is that well written songs can make different people think of different things at different times and it's what seperates the good from the great.

IMHO. This song has absolutely no meaning. The video is about conspiracies disappearing because people run away or get abducted or whatever. Other than that, it's a good tune. So therefore, the only reason to enjoy it is to blame it on your ADD which is why you are now listening to this song at work.

First of all, THANK YOU to the guy that said ADD stands for ALCOHOL & DRUG DEPENDENCY. I caught this immediately and it brings an entirely different depth to the message of the song. Its a catchy kiddy song if you think he's talking about Attention Deficit Disorder.

Now, in my interpretation I took a little liberty. Since ADD stands for something other than the obvious, I figure SAIL does as well. The idea of getting away is wonderful and fits right into the ADD, add the dual meaning of the common idea that when you are high you are "sailing" as well as the even more important acronym of (S)tole (A)ll (I) (L)ove to the Alcohol & Drug Dependency I think you might start to understand what this song really means.

    So, to recap:

Alcohol & Drug Dependency Stole All I Love. Sail with me into the dark.

    And the whole song reads:
    --------------------------------------

This is how i show my love
[This song is the only way I know to show you how much I really love you]
Made it in my mind because
    [I wrote to explain]
Blame it on my ADD baby
[I'm an addict, its not my fault]

This is how an angel dies
[This is how a good person turns bad]
Blame it on my own sick pride
[Its my fault, I thought I was stronger than my addiction]
Blame it on my ADD baby
    [I'm an addict, I can't help it]

    SAIL! [Get away, save yourself]
SAIL! [I need to get away, it hurts too much]
SAIL! [Addiction Stole All I Love]
    SAIL!
    SAIL!

Maybe i should cry for help
[I don't know how to ask, but I might need help]
    Maybe i should kill myself
[This would end my pain, or maybe get me help]
Blame it on my ADD baby
    [I'm an addict, I can't help it]

    Maybe I'm a different breed
[They tell me I'm different from others]
    Maybe I'm not listening
[I don't listen when they try to help]
Blame it on my ADD baby
[I'm an addict, it controls my life]

    .
    .
    .

(Sail with me into the dark)
[Come with me, I will release you from your pain]
[Come with us to away from the pain]

    ----------------------------------------

I dare any of you to break the song down better than that.
However, there is at least one more layer of meaning to most of this. I leave that to the astute, but it has to do directly with the relationship I believe.

First read the lyrics to AWOLnation's "knights of shame"-"kill your heroes"-"Wake up". and watch movies like 'logans run' 'minority report''1984'etc

themes from stories like "The Marching Morons"- "Till All The Seas" -"The Fortress Of Utopia"-Eternal Champion"->"When Worlds Collide"<-"1984"

And of course things like the 'Georgia guide stones' 'agenda 21' and area 51/52.

struggling with grandiosity, ego, the 4 humors- wanting someone to take you as you are-etc

Can I just say something? Every music video is metaphorical. It's not REALLY and aliens or government conspiracies. Think about it, and compare all the music videos to the songs they go to. It's not literal.

whether a relationship or aliens, the heart of the song is about not being known. the reference to the third eye meant clairvoyance into his mind and served as another vehicle via aliens and illuminati covering up his discovery with ADD. the lyrics however depict a troubled relationship because of a misunderstanding due to the ADD. (personally i like to think of, "this is how an angel dies" as a persons spirit atrophying from lack of being known and love)
when both the movie and the lyrics are taken into consideration the common theme amongst the two and the one thing that fits with every part is that he isn't truly known and is trapped behind some veil, just sailing away into the darkness.

I think this video is a simpler interpretation of its original intent.

The man saying these words is obsessed with something, be it drugs, cutting himself, a girl, his job researching/work with aliens as seen in video, etc.
**This is how i show my love
Made it in my mind because
Blame it on my ADD baby**

He's singing to the one person he trusts to talk to about this issue and asking them to please go with him to avoid an even bigger catastrophe, regardless of how crazy it sounds because HE knows it to be true (suicide, running away)
**This is how an angel dies
Blame it on my own sick pride
Blame it on my ADD baby**

Sail, IMO means let's get the fuck out of here.
    **SAIL!**

My interpretation is that he feels disconnected from the 'real world' and simply drifts (sails) through life apart from everyone else, in somewhat of a fugue state. Perhaps this distance is due to his ADD, perhaps it is just because he's different. I don't think he really cares why it is, or what convenient label people want to put on it, because he isn't really there to care. Also, between the lyrics and the video, I'm guessing he suffers from a fair bit of social anxiety. I base the first part on the nickname AWOL, which I understand was given him due to his habit of walking off without saying goodbye. (Thus the disconnect from others, not feeling obliged to obey societal niceties because he doesn't feel like a part of that society). The second part is mostly the video, him being rather disinclined to be dragged from the house and into the light, but also not really interacting with whatever is trying to drag him. I have a good friend with both ADD and severe social anxiety, and he has the same sort of 'distracted' attitude, and is misunderstood by many. People think he's not listening to them, or being rude, when he IS present in the moment, everyone else just isn't. He's described his life as being like a video game, where the people are there and you can interact with them, but no one is really real. This is the feeling I get from this song. Sorry for being so long-winded!

Regardless of what the song is about I lovvvveeeee it. When I first heard it I felt utterly sexual charged and wanted to dance. My reaction to the song, I understand, most likely isn't typical. Yet, I felt like dancing in the dark. LOL also this song put me in the mind of two of my other all time faves Black and Gold by Sam Sparro and Closer by KOL
