Blink-182: The Rock Show Meaning
Song Released: 2001
The Rock Show Lyrics
on the weekend
Acting stupid, getting drunk with
my best friends
I couldn't wait for the summer and
the Warped Tour
I remember it's the first time that I saw
her there.
She's getting kicked out of...

Uhm if it's Christian rock, it's about Christ, and Christmas is(supposed to be) about Christ, so technically all Christian Rock songs about Christ work in for Christmas right? That's how a pehacerr of mine describes it anyways.

This song is all about living without "purpose or direction", as Mark says, and it tells about the meeting of a boy and a girl at the warped tour. Mark fells in love with her, and moves to Vegas to reach her. All her friends hate him for this, but the story seems to go well.
The song ends with "I'll never forget tonight", which is clearly referred to the rock show they met at. -
in the song "rock show" by blink 182. the meaning of the song is simple. a boy meets a girl who he falls in love with but her parents disaprove of his lifestyle, the girl does not have the same feelings as he has for her.

One of the more lighthearted, fun Blink songs. Mark Hoppus actually wrote this song in one night near the end of the pre-recording sessions for Take Off Your Pants And Jacket when the label didn't feel the album had enough simple, catchy, radio-friendly singles. I'm sure the label loved him for it, as it started off the promotion for the album with a bang. It even advertised the warp tour, and marked the beginning of the pop/punk band craze that would last for the next few years. People smelled the money. It was maybe written with a bit of an ego as well with lines like 'seventeen without a purpose or direction, we don't owe anyone a f*cking explanation'. Blink 182 were huge at this time. It was great for it to happen to group of guys that actually worked really hard for it and had talent. A song like this is a great example of the songwriting knack that Hoppus has. Simply because he wrote it overnight.

This song is basically a song about loving a girl the singer "met at the rock show". It's also about the whole whole pop-punk/Warped Tour/skateboarder/skate-punk lifestyle.
