Bring Me the Horizon: Crooked Young Meaning
Crooked Young Lyrics
Hallejuah, well I'm saved
Just a dozen steps, in 28 days
Its a mirical, I'll be born again
With the lord as my shepard, I will find a way
Fuck your faith, noones going to save you
Fuck your faith
There's no hope for...
-
The way he says "it's a miracle. Thank you Jesus." Is clearly sarcastic. Like how so many people believe god cures so much but in truth it's nothing. It's sarcasm.
-
I think that this song is about how Religion is not something you should depend on "The clouds wont hear your fucking prayers." The sarcastic part of the song is the beginning where it almost sounds pro religious and then cuts straight to "Fuck your faith." This song cannot be a pro religious in my opinion, though I can see how it could mislead some people. This is my favorite song on their new album.
-
I think what Oli was going towards is that religion can't be forced down your throat. Because he says "fuck your faith" and then later on he says "thank you Jesus." Whether he is religious or not, I believe his point was be what you want to be and don't let people force a religion upon you.
-
Well if you really think about it, Oli did a commentary for the album before it came out and he said that some of the lyrics are sarcastic. So you guys are probably right that he's making fun of the Christian faith lol. Just a little thought.
-
Oli is religious and he has admited that. I believe he is saying in this song that you need to believe in your religion and not have it forced on you like it is with many people including me
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
Agreed. Sounds pretty anti-religious to me. I don't know what else it could possibly be about, I mean the lyrics are pretty blunt.
I mean honestly: "Fuck your faith, no ones gonna save you Fuck your faith"? and "Believe in no one But yourself The faceless won't save you The clouds won't hear your fucking prayers" Awesome song though :) -
More or less this song is pretty much against religion. I was surprised because the previous album's song "Don't Go" suggested Olli did have sort of view on religion as being something positive. Again its hard to actually tell, but I'm pretty sure this song just describes those who do not believe.
