Ed Sheeran: Lego House Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Lego House Lyrics
and build a lego house
when things go wrong we can knock it down
but these three words have two meanings,
there's one thing on my mind
It's all for you
And it's dark in a cold December, but I've got ya to...

This song is helping me with a breakup right now. I was with my boyfriend for over a year and i just wasn't happy anymore. I listened to this song and watched the video and imagined myself singing this song for...myself! Because I'm learning to get back on my feet and do things more independently, learning to love myself again and not needing a partner to make decisions for me.
For me, It's like a song that i'm singing to myself and letting myself know that I'm the only one thats going to make myself feel better and 'love myself better now.' -
maybe Ed and Rupert were best friends but they were such good friends that it became obsessive so they stopped seeing each other and Rupert misses him so much he started living his life to remember his friend but its been so long so Rupert is a stranger to Ed which makes him look like any other fan and it could be called Lego house because even the strongest friendships can be knocked down and forgotten so Rupert misses him so much he loves him even more

I think its about accepting your partner as who she is and in return she(cause a guy is singing) does the same for you... that the more you get to know her the more you fall in love and learn to understand his individuality... that you not only complete each other but also compliment... then you learn to accept that the same person who makes you high as a kite and feel like you are Samson is your Delilah... but then again, if you are willing to take a chance after whatever obstacle comes your way then you can always start over, thus rebuilding a lego house...
That's just me, though... :) -
I love this song, and Ed is amazing.
But I have a question about a line in the song, which I don't know how to interpret. So if any of you have a suggestion, I would be happy to hear it. The line is..
"My three words have two meanings,
there's one thing on my mind
It's all for you"
"My the three words" .. I think he mean the words "I love you" .. but the rest i'm not sure about! HELP!!! :) -
listening to the song before the video, i had images of a struggling relationship, sort of a one sided love. the song can be interpreted in two ways i think, a relationship and an obsession. forget the video and listen to the song, you should see two stories

the song is about wanting something or someone so badly, that you loose yourself in it all and finally accepting yourself and your own life. you can build a lego house but it is not perminant, not the answer, not what you need. in this same respect, you can be so in love with someone and no matter how much you fight to make it work, it wont. the ending leaves you somber, yet more fulfilled, liked you are more at piece with circumstances.

I think this song is all about being stalking and being crazed about one person, and having to let go of the idea that sometimes what's in your head is not reality. I love this song purely because of the melody and the words in it, and LOVE ed and rupert! They are absoloute BABES.!!!

Hi, first of all I'm a big Ed Sheeran fan too. Now, I didn't really grasp any meaning to this song at all until I saw the video.
What I interpreted from the song was that a fan (portrayed by Grint)had become obsessive about Sheeran going everywhere he'd ever been, trying to lead his life basically and at the end walked on stage as him only to be taken off but to see his idol in the lift and that making his dreams complete.
The meaning, I think anyway is that it is easy to become stalkerish and obsessive toward a celebrity or indeed another person and that you can take it too far but that in some ways it isn't necessarily bad.
Hope this helped!
