   This song is about the cheap quality of lyrics in the so called hip hop industry today. Listening to them makes it easy to belive that people can actually go down instead of up as time goes on.
   The rhymes are no longer as snappy or clever as they once were, the beats are generic, many rappers are slipping shit verses into pop songs and they themselves rip off other songs and don't write their own lyrics. The rappers themselves have lost all the excitement and originality of hip hop.
   How can the same old lyrics of Lil Wayne comapre with the quirky fun of the Beastie Boys?
   In what way is Drake on par with Jay Z, Nas, 2pac and so many others?
   Are Kanye West's beats on the level of Dr Dre.
   Is Young Money as rich as Aftermath ever was?
   Is Nicki Minaj even fit to wipe Missy Elliot/ Lauryn Hills asses?
   What audience can Birdman/Rick Ross/Drake/Kanye West claim to command compared with greats such as Eminem?
   Are anyones verses as sick as Eminem, the guys from D12, 2pac, Notorious B.I.G etc etc?
   Nas is right.
   HIP HOP IS DEAD.

   It's about how kids don't listen to the verses. They only care about the chorus. Eminem made a chorus that makes no connection with the verses.

   This song tells it like it is, there are no real mc's these days the industry is saturated with garbage. Stupid hooks and elementary lyrics. Most of the rappers out there rap like they only have a 3rd grade education. Most of them don't even know what hip hop is, majority of the artists now are not hip hop they are just a gimmick. They don't even spit lyrics, they only say punch lines that don't even rhyme. Hip hop consists of 5 elements 1: b-boys 2: MC ing (actually having some thing to say) 3: knowledge 4: graffiti 5: DJ ing ( with vinyl actual records not this stupid computer based CDJ push button crap). DJ ing is an art form not something that a button and an instruction manual can teach you , that's what the song is about whack artist out there claiming they have skill ... They are only in it for the money not the love
