Flyleaf: Fully Alive Meaning
Song Released: 2006
Fully Alive Lyrics
'Bout how all her bones are broken
Hammers fall on all the pieces
Two months in the cover creases
Fully alive
More than most
Ready to smile and love life
Fully alive and she knows
How to believe in...

I think this song is about a young women who has a hard life. She has finally realized that no matter how hard life is she has to allways realize that she is still alive. She is happy to be alive although she doesn't believe in futers. She just lives one day at a time and is greatfull to live another day. She is happy through the depression and the sadness because she is alive.
-
This song is about a girl who has suffered but is still strong through it all. She realizes that there is more to life then dwelling on the past. She is even more beautifull and amazing after it all because of what she has went through.

I think that this song is about a very strong person. "hammers fall on all the pieces... Here she stands today." which to me means that even though she has been cruched repeatedly, she gets up and moves on. She picks up the peices and carries them in her hands, a reminder of her suffering so as not to forget. She carries on with strength and will power

This song I think, is about how a girl, has suffered (whatever the cause may be) but she's looking for something good in her life, even if it's the smallest thing, she's happy because it's better than the suffering she's been through.
She's glad for one day of comfort
Even though it's ONE day, she's happy because, again, it's better than wehat she's been going through
So pretty much it's about a suffering girl, looking at the "bright side" and being happy that she's not worse off. She's very optimistic. -
I think the song is about a girl that has been put down so many times she got stronger each time and she has hope wants to live life and injoy what lays aheadand not the past. I think the part fully alive more than most is about her loving what she has.
rockon every one -
This song is about more than just being hopeful this song glorifies life. I personally believe that we should always enjoy life no matter our troubles and that is what this song is about. Never giving into dispare no matter how hard the troubles are to always live life to the fullest and look forward to the future.
Remember
The past is the past the only thing we can do about it is learn from it.

Extra blurb about why I like this band
What I like about this band so much is that their songs are not just about god in strict sayings but more about life. I personally am agnostic in that I do believe in human spirit but for me I don't believe in the church's teaching or gods hand directly in bible. I agree with the band in almost all their songs though. being agnostic doesn't mean I am such a horrible person though. I have higher morals however than all most all of my friends who of them many are deeply religious. My morals may be different like how I believe intent to kill for any other reason that the defense of ones own life or anothers life voids that persons right to life. The main reason I am agnostic is that I don't believe that a benevolent god would require belief in him and not judging solely on actions as requiring belief shows arrogance and no true god can have a fault correct. -
Fully Alive is about a girl who has suffered so much but is still thankful for being alive and thankful for any good things(small or big) that happen. To me whoever this girl is, is the strongest girl in the world, to be able to get through so much suffering and still find time to be happy. I love this song and I really relate to it. Listening to it made me want to be strong too and get to through my suffering and my depression. Hopefully this song could help others who suffer through life and show them how to be strong.
