There's blood on my hands (hands)
There's blood on my hands
Blood on my hands, blood on my hands
Woke up in the middle of ascending in the night.
With some tears on the...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think its about divorce. She hated him and destroyed his life. She left him and took away his child. So i guess thats what they mean by killing him twice.Once when she left him and twice when she took his child with her.

#2 top rated interpretation:Like somebody before said; I believe it's about a man and a woman who had a bitter break-up. But he still loved her so it's a metaphorical stabbing(Maybe the stabbing feeling you get from heartbreak. About her sneaking from behind, that could be speaking of her going behind his back and being cheating and horrible. And the part about the kids i think, again, like somebody said before; she took them in the break-up. Making him feel depressed and dead inside.

#3 top rated interpretation:Look I know it is not abortion. I believe it is about a man who gets killed by his wife/girlfriend/ex in the first verse. The second verse I think is the man reflecting on his last moments of life with his wife/girlfriend/ex and thinks of a motive of why she killed him. Also the part about killing his kids is pretty obvious. The chorus and bridge I think is about the killer thinking about wat she has done so she kills herself. If u think I'm wrong dont judge me because I have seen pretty dumb attempts so far.

I think it is about a woman that wakes up in the hospitable and realizes she got an abortion because of the husband who is cheating on her so she gets up and goes to find him in the dark were she kills him for what he did

The way I've always seen it is the singer wakes up in bed in the middle of the night once their romantic partner has initially attacked. The attacker already murdered their children and has come to finish the job. The singer is dragged out into the night, where he/she retaliates and kills the attacker in self-defense, referenced by the repeated line "blood on my hands(that being a term commonly used to describe a killer, e.g. "her blood is on his hands" meaning "he killed her")." Or it could be vice versa: the singer wakes up from a fugue-like state once he/she has injured their partner and killed the children, and is dragged out into the night, where he/she is killed by the partner in self-defense.

I think that this song is about divorce, and how it could kill someone. The line "You took away my kids, so I guess you killed me twice" kinda proves the divorce theory.

This is the relationship of a man and a woman. The man sings the chorus "There's blood on my hands." The woman sings the stanzas. They have children together, and are married. The man begins to pull away, as is hinted in the lyric "My soul has stained the sheet but it's pulled off to one side." He files for a divorce and wins custody of the children. She fights back. At all costs.

I believe the woman was his exwife and she killed him and she aborted her Children before she killed him and he mabey awoke as a ghost and saw his blood on his hands and he witnessed her commit suicide
-
I feel like its about how a woman that used a man that fell for them to get what she wants but doesn't really love or even like the man she used so she kills him and takes what she was using the man for away after killing him (i hoe this is right!).

I think it tells the story of a woman, that maybe, suffered from depression (or something else, maybe she was schizophrenic... And she killed her children, taking them away from her husband, to later kill him by stabbing him in the back... I'm probably wrong but that's just how I interpret the song

i think that it's about either someone's wife or girlfriend who eventually for some reason attempts to murder the person singing. while that happens the singer seems angered and shocked.
-
It's about a police investigation, the start is a man's suicide note. The 2nd verse is the truth about the death which was actually murder by the man's girlfriend. And the 3rd is the girlfriends story which is about the man abusing him and her getting held in the man's house while she tried to escape
