Maroon 5: She Will Be Loved Meaning
Song Released: 2004
She Will Be Loved Lyrics
She had some trouble with herself
He was always there to help her She always belonged to someone else
I drove for miles and miles
And wound up at your door
I've had you so many times but somehow
I want...

That comment about the song being about a girl in a wheel-chair...was weird. The song is about this guy who is in love with a beautiful girl but she always seems to be taken by someone else who doesn't make her happy and she's probably sleeping with this guy on the side and it doesn't matter to him because he'll keep waiting for her hoping that one day she'll be his. But she can't seem to let go of her bad relationship.
-
I think it's about a guy that loves a young girl..they have an on again off again relationship...he met her a long time ago..they were together once but it didn't work out..so she went her own way and dated others..when that didn't work she always came back to him, he will always be there waiting for her becuz he always catches her when she falls..which means every time her other relationships work, she always comes back to him, because she knows hell always love her no matter what..even though he tries to say no, he always takes her back..

I always thought the song was about a girl who went out with jocks and shit cause she was insecure, and then the guy who wrote the song always loved her but wasn't good enough for her? like maybe he was a nerd or something? it sounds kinda stupid compared to everyone else's interpretations... The one about the girl being in a wheelchair really touched me ;(
And then..the video was really confusing ;S

She got abused "look for the girl with a broken smile."

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

In the video, I see it as he is dating like a younger woman who's mother he dated in high school or college, but she married a MUCH older man, who was really emotional abusive toward her. The guy dates her daughter, but is still in love with her.

hey, thanks for those fantastic interpretations... but could anyone figure out the music video?? -- how adam liked his girfriends mom??!! please elaborate.

This is a great song, in my opinion it is about a guy who starts to fall for a really great "girl" friend of his, but she doesn't get the same feeling that he does, and he wants to be with her so bad but she doesn't look at him like that, and like everyone knows he is there for here no matter what but only to "build" her up and watch her fall again after loving someone else, and basically no matter what he always catches her as she falls, but she never sees him as that guy, she only sees him as the friend... I personally can relate to this song a lot, I'm sure a lot of others can too.
Good song -
This song reminds me exactly of what happened to me. To explain this song and what it means to me.
The beauty queen is suppose to represent a pretty girl who was really depressed and had her problems. And how this guy was always there as a friend to help her through though them, but she always liked/went out with someone else. Then it says how he had his problems too and sometimes just came to her house and she helped him. And how they liked eachother, but he wants her forever not just temporarly. Then he says he doesn't mind waiting for her in the worst of situations, and then he's sort of letting her go because he's saying like someone else can make her happy because she doesn't want me sort of thing, but he'll always love her. And then he's saying no matter how depressed he is, he's saying he's always there for her. And that its not always perfect situations we go through, that its actually the bad ones that help us grow.
Then after he says that he knows everything about her and when she always goes for another guy, it never works out and she comes back to him and how he always is just a rebound, and then at the end he tells her not to try so hard to move on because he'll always love her. -
I am getting the impression that this song has something to do with a prostitute, the whole "he was always there to help her, she always belonged to someone else" lyric got me thinking that the girl is unattainable because she belongs to every person who hires her for the night, so she cannot belong to the man who loves her, this followed by "I don't mind spending everyday, out on your corner in the pouring rain, look for the girl with the broken smile, ask her if she wants to stay awhile" really made me think she was a prostitute

They were in love, but she questioned it, and doubts it.
He's heartbroken, but doesn't mind waiting, because he knows it will be worth it, when she comes back to him.
