Owl City: Alligator Sky Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Alligator Sky Lyrics
Where was I when the rockets came to life
And carried you away into the alligator sky?
Even though I'll never know what's up ahead
I'm never lettin' go, I'm never lettin' go
Shawn Chrystopher:
Uh uh, that's not a plane, that's...
-
This is a song about Christ
-
the song is amazing!

It's about Native Indians and mythical creatures.
-
Remember, in the Bible, when Jesus Christ ascended to heaven? That's the meaning of "where was I when the rockets came to life".
The lyrics, "Even though I'll never know what's up ahead, I'm never letting go". That means that even though the singer has so many doubts in mind about heaven, even though he has many unanswered questions, he will never let go of his faith. -
I seriously think this about 9/11. "Where was I when the rockets came to life"
and everything makes me think it's about 9/11/ -

music is subjective so in this song he's saying
" where was i wen the rockets came to life"
where was i when the universe was created
"and carried u away intothe alligator sky"
christ resurrected descending into the sky
"even tho i'll never knw wht's up ahead im never letting go''
this world is rapidly changing infront of my eyes, i'll never let go of your promises..
"Keep your eyes shout"
Stay in prayer and explore what's beyond youre sights..
" now im gonna dance lik ive never danced and dream like ive never dreamed"
Live each day lik it's my last
"you'll miss me if you blink twice"
Jesus will return like a thief in a night so keep watch! -
I think It mean that us humans found a new world we evolved so much we explored(if you watch the video properly you will see good bye earth etc)
Also that we broke the sky's limit(shawn:weve been lied to that the sun is something we cant fly to)
:D It simply a beautiful song saying THE SKY IS NOT THE LIMIT you can go further than that -
Humanity has discovered the technology to finally leave it's devastated, and sucked-dry world behind, and find a new home in God's beautiful universe. Mixed emotions fill people's minds as they journey onto new worlds and new beginnings, with big hopes and dreams. The UN has commissioned thousands of volunteers to make final documentations of our home, before forever departing into the cosmos. One man chooses to document Earth, over leaving with his love. And now regret fills his heart.

The title "Alligator Sky" means nothing. Adam just thought it wold be cool to have "Alligator" and "Sky" together.
-
I believe it's about some one dying because of the rockets carrying them away =some one going to heaven, into the alligator sky= alligators can hurt people and it hurts when people die, when the engines cough and u blast off=your brain and heart stop and u die, that is why I think the song is about some one dying.
-
i think it's about what happened on january 28, 1986. he wasn't born yet. that's why he was asking if where he was when that happened. 7 people, i think, died on that space accident.
-
I think that song related to the tragedy in January 28 1986... about the
"Challenger Disaster">>> look the lyrics "
Where was I when the rockets came to life
And carried you away into the alligator sky?
Even though I’ll never know what’s up ahead
I’m never lettin’ go, I’m never lettin’ go"
adam dont want let them go....
