Ok he has this job in LA and he hates it there and is girlfreind lives far off alone on the weekends. So there both depressed. Then one day he gets supper sick of this job. The lights of LA lose there coolness but hes still stuck. Then his girlfreind visits and everythings brighter again, LAs lights comeback and the stars are shining, wile shes visiting hes thinking about what he wants to do with his life, if he wants to be with her or keep his job. Hes working on a boat it seems because he wants her to walkalong the beach when the ships are out, trying to get her closer to work, its still not quite what he hoped for hes thinkin of her and hes hopeing shes thinking of him.He wants her to know he misses her. There no point in doing much without her, at this point he thinks things are gitting out of hand. Then he just toses out his desck job or his job, in other words he quits. Hes cutting off from LA and gets back together with her. If you listen to the song when you read this it makes alot of sence. :)

imagine a boy who misses his girl who left, and now everything feels empty and lifeless. Hes reflecting on the times they spent together and just lonely :( He is waiting for her to realize they were made for each other and when she does they can sail the ocean together
