5 Seconds of Summer: Waste The Night Meaning
Waste The Night Lyrics
Taste in your tongue, the smoke in your lungs
And I need your love, and I need your love
The salt on your skin is pulling me in
And I need your love, and I need your love
I don't wanna say goodbye to another...

I kind of want to go deeper into what I think the song means and the visuals. "Salt on your skin" makes me think of a beach with the girl. Maybe he doesn't want to waste his teenage years and the specific moment with her. He doesn't want to be just another memory to this person. "Scratch in your voice" personally sounds like they've had sex and their voices are all raspy afterwards. This girl is probably a one night stand or just a fling but he wants to be more. It's happened before and it's hurt him. He wants to have fun with someone.
I really love this song and as a teenager myself, I like to imagine myself in love with someone and running around my city at midnight. Or at a beach. Just enjoying each other's company at a really late time. Thinking "I don't want to be away from you." Or "I want to make every second with you count." -
This song is about not wanting to waste being with this girl. But something I find interesting is this song has one of those 2nd songs put onto the end of it. But it also connects to a song that you can only listen too on sound cloud or get the cd from target or something like that but it's called "story of another us." When the song starts up it has the back track to waste the night in the back and threw out the song whispering behind the cords if you listen closely. Haven't heard anyone point out the connection behind them because let's face it, it's not 2006 and people rarely buy CDs anymore. So I recommend going on soundcloud (YouTube doesn't have it sorry) and listening to waste the night and story of another is back to back. The full story is him not wanting to take any moment for granted with this girl but later he finds that after them being so close that they drift away and he realizes that it's to late to late to go back and be what they used to be.

Probably about a guy that doesn't wanna loose a second with the girl he's spending time with meaning maybe he doesn't wanna leave without talking to her or something above those lines. Idk I like the song and whatever the meaning is beyond me. It's a lit song :-D
