I Miss You Lyrics
Hello there, the angel from my nightmare,
The shadow in the background of the morgue,
The unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley
We can live like Jack and Sally if you want
Where you can always find me...
-
"The unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley," probably means he wasn't expecting to be hurt, right? Maybe being hurt caught him by surprise.
"Where are you? And I'm so sorry," could be either interpreted as that he drove her away, or she did something to hurt him and he wants the old her back- maybe that he is sorry he drove her to hurt him? -
WOW?!
DOES LIKE, NO ONE UNDERSTAND THIS SONG??
It's simple..
"angel from my nightmare"= loved one in a bad place or timing
"unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley"= loved one died
Mmkayyy?!
I'm thinking someone died, and they had been mistreated beforehand.
The person who mistreated them is now engulfed in guilt, make sense?? -
Sounds like it's about the death of a girlfriend/any other close relation.
Hello there, The Angel from my nightmare
[He has nightmares about her death but within the nightmare is her -- The Angel.]
The shadow in the background of the morgue
[Her spirit waiting with him at the morgue]
The unsuspecting Victim of darkness in the valley
[This would refer to how he/she died - as an unsuspecting victim in some dark place.]
We can live like Jack and Sally if we want?
[Jack and Sally being the two characters from the Nightmare before Christmas, who are both dead, indicating some thought of suicide on his behalf in order to be able to join her and they can live together being dead.]
Where you can always find me and we'll have Halloween on Christmas.
[Him dying means that she also being dead will always be able to find him because he is in the same realm, the halloween on christmas is another allusion to the Nightmare before Christmas.]
And in the night We'll wish this never ends. -Wish this never ends.
[The night refering to the afterlife and the hope that they cannot be taken away from each other again]
Where are you? And I'm so sorry.
[His thoughts about not knowing where she is in the spiritual sense, he's so sorry that he either was not able to die with her or not able to protect her or (due to the next line) is sorry for moving on.]
I cannot sleep, I cannot dream tonight.
[Tonight most probably the day of her death or whatever, he cannot sleep hence he cannot dream. And if he does sleep it will be a nightmare (see the first line)]
I need somebody and always
[Probably referring to the fact that he needs someone to be by his side, now that she is dead he will need someone else to be there (Probably why he's so sorry)]
The sick, strange darkness, comes creeping on so haunting every time.
[The sick strange darkness I'm assming is the prospect of her not being in his life creeping up on him and haunting him, reminding him that she is dead]
And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders.
[Im not sure if the webs of the spiders is a metaphor for the trap that the girl was probably killed in spiders representing evil, or if the webs of the spiders just fits the whole negative theme representing a barrier that he has in his way and if he gets trapped in it people will ridicule him. Not to sure on this line]
Catching things and eating their insides.
[The consequence of getting caught in the web, as stated above, but obviously not literal]
Like indecision to call you
[His indecesion whether to pray to god because he doesn't believe in god but wants to so much just to contact her in some way]
And hear your voice of treason
[Maybe because he feels betrayed that she died and left him even thought going by the first line it wasn't her fault. It would explain why he's so sorry as well, for thinking that I mean]
Will you come home and stop this pain tonight? -Stop this pain tonight.
[I think this line is just more to show his desperation in wanting her to come back despite is obvious impossibility]
Dont waste your time on me, you're already the voice inside my head
[Perhaps an admission or a self-comfort, that she doesn't need to contact him and 'waste the time on him' because she is already the voice in his head constantly]
I miss you
[Preeety much speaks for itself] -
Umm is it just me, or does this song remind you guys of The Butterfly Effect?
-
Lets add a new dimension to this song. I think this song is about an abnormal person. He is in paranoia until he hears the voice of his ownself in his mind. This guy actually misses his own old self. He says don't waste his schizophrenic self on talking to him coz that voice is already something that exists in his own head. Try reading the lyrics now once more, it will make sense.
-
Huh? whats this death and stuff?
all the discription is about the relantionship between he and his girlfriend. Its ending or close to ending and thier growing farther and farther apart.
the guy is totally falling for her but she's hesitant but they both know the relationship just won't work (I think)...
anywho..i love singing it... -

Jack and Sally are the main two characters in "The Nightmare Before Christmas". The Halloween on Christmas refers to the movie. Also, it it used to demonstrate horror on what is supposed to be a happy day. I think it is about somebody who messed up a relationship and is thinking about it at night, thinking of how much they love the other. The angel from the nightmare is the person they love, and it's a only good thing they had left, but horrible that got messed up.
-
This song I think is about the guy loving someone and they did something to make him mad/upset. "Where are you and I'm so sorry" means he is sorry that he had to leave her but showing he still cares. When he sings and compares the spiders eating the other bugs insides like the indecision to call them meaning he is torn between forgiveness or to not forgive. "Come home and stop this pain tonight" Means he feels like she should be back but when he says "Dont waste your time on me you're already a voice inside my head" shows that he decides he doesn't want her back, and now all of it is just a memory. And when it repeats "I miss you" is going back to his original decision of forgiving. The song is basically him fighting himself to either forgive or leave someone he loved so much that hurt him.

All those interpretations sound good but I think it's about a friendship (or maybe relationship) that used to be really tight, and nothing bad really happened, but they kinda grew apart and the narrator of the song misses his/her friendship being the way it USED to be. and every time they see each other it's painful because things aren't the way they once were.
-
I miss you is actually about a persons girlfriend has died and he would do anything to get her back "we can live like jack and sally" this is a line from "a nightmare before christmas" and they are both dead so the guy is thinking about suicide to be with the one he loves. This is why he misses her "I miss you" the second verse reflects on how the guy feels. The guy feels it is his fault "I'm so sorry" and that he has a guilty conscience so he cannot sleep or dream. If he can not sleep or dream it could also mean that he will have nightmares of her like a flash back so it seems that he was there when she died. The chorus "don't waste your time on me your already the voice inside my head" this means that the girl is haunting the boy and the boy wants to forget about her so he is telling her spirit to leave him alone. listen to the song carefully to understand you could also look at the lyrics. Saint jimmy.

This song may just be obvious by its song title. He misses someone dearly. And they shouldn't waste time on him since their voice is inside their head 24/7.
-
I think this is a song about a a guy who is going out with a girl who is cheating on him. She broke up with him to be with another guy. He realizes how bad she is for him but that doesn't matter. When he says "dont waste your time on me your all ready the voice inside my head" I think he's talking about how the thought of her is haunting him, but she doesn't care. He wants her back and she doesn't want him.
