Land Of Confusion Lyrics

I must have dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street

Now, did you read the news today?
They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still...

This song is simply about the way that our world has been fucked up and how we have the power to help it but we continue to make things worse or leave things the way they are.

"This is the world we live in
and these are the hands we're given
use them and let's start tryin'
to make it a place worth livin' in"

    broken down:
    line 1- we live here
line 2- we have the power to help
line 3- we can, but we don't
    line 4- it CAN work

Yes, but the lyrics in general have to do with the political crap of the 80's, maybe there's some similarities, I'm not sure of the politics of then, but David himself has said that we are living in a land of confusion.

A cover of Genesis' "Land of Confusion" echoes the political undertone of the 1987 original.

And By The Way, You Can't Always Get Song Meanings From The Videos.

Go on youtube and watch "genesis: land of confusion" watch the scene in the beginning and take a guess at who the puppet couple is.... I'll give you a hint, they are a political couple and one of them is a previous president. (( it's not the girl, for all you slow people )) it is a song about politics.

It's not about iraq or bush's presidency. The song is a cover of an old phil collins/genesis song. It basically says that peace is a goal we all have to work for and uniting against our own government is a start.

I think this song is just about how our world is falling apart, and he's saying we have to try to make things better, instead of making things worse.

"this is the world we live in
and these are the hands we're given
use them and let's start trying
to make a place worth living in"

that pretty much says it all. We have the ability to make the world a better place,so we should.

I think this song is about the country falling apart and everything is going to hell. The line "The men of steel, these men of power Are losing control by the hour" I think is about the governent not being able to controll everything that's happening inside the country and the whole Iraq thing. "This is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given Use them and let's start trying To make it a place worth living in" is saying we are apart of this world so we need to do our part in fixing it, because if we can't do anything to help then we really are living in a land of confusion
