Disturbed: Stricken Meaning
Song Released: 2005
Stricken Lyrics
Won't even bother now to tell me why
You come alone, letting all of us savor the moment
Leaving me broken another time
You come on like a bloodstained hurricane
Leave me alone, let me be this time
You...

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:It's about someone coming into your life getting all of your heart then ripping it away and your never able to recover from it.
-
3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:it sounds to me almost like its about a relationship that ended but they both still like each other (you come on like a bloodstained hurricane...That im stricken and cant let you go). For some reason the narrator knows it wont work, maybe because of something that happend in the previous relationship which left him emotionally scarred (When the heart is cold, there is no hope, and we know that I'm crippled by all that you did...)
-
talk about one of those relationships that drag you like a tornado, the interpreter knows the type of relationship it is, since he was in one like this before. Knowing that, many of us still decide to enter into it, despite the result, it is like that when you are used to this type of relationship, you know what will happen but you still lie to yourself, believing that this time it will be different, when only the day will be different. that you change and stop looking for those kinds of relationships.
-
A perpetual cycle of being drawn into relationships that are more obsession than love. Relationships born from one incapable of love due to never having been loved.
-
I find these type of lyrics problematic. I can’t let you go, seriously? It’s not romantic, it’s stalking. As a victim of a woman of a man who couldn’t let go, songwriters who romanticise obsession are part of the problem. It’s not romantic, it’s potentially fatal, check out the stats.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

He fell in love with her and shedoes not feel exactly the same she loves someone else or likes him but does not reciprocate his feelings of love in doing so her everyday actions pain him her maybe not knowing or not caring as she gos on with her life he cant let her go
-
To me is about someone when he remembers what they've done to him he becomes aggressive and vengeful.
It says: "Leave me alone this time, "you'll never know why your face has haunting me" and "I can't let you go". -

I'm pretty sure this song is about a guy who's been in a long-term relationship with a girlfriend and then she leaves him (dies, commits suicide, cheats, etc), leaving him, as the title says, stricken. I love this song and Disturbed! This song freaking rules. :3

I watched the music video, and it's not about raped, both parties are taking tips being on top and enjoying it. It suggested mental illness to me however, the random scenes of dolls, and fish just to add to abnormality. But like the words in blood and the clawing/knife parts reminded be of self harm, the woman also paces back and forth a few times before sitting in a chair and is seen again clawing at her face, blood is common during these scenes. I believe that the song is about a relationship where one member committed suicide while the other is left "stricken" beyond belief
-
This song is about his girlfriend who killed herself(suicide) and about him can't ge over that, so than he goes to drugs and thinking about his own death and seeing her "another time"

Considering it's disturbed, I don't think it's a love song. To me it sounds like an aetheist talking about how he hears people preaching to him about religion, but all he wants is to live life without thinking he's doomed to hell. "You come on like a blood stained hurricane Leave me alone, let me be this time You carry on like a holy man pushing redemption I don't want to mention, the reason I know". He doesn't believe in it, but the thought haunts him. "You don't know what your power has done to me" an "You'll never know why your face has haunted me My very soul has to bleed this time. Finally
"I want to know if I'll heal inside"in other words it's only hurting him. I'm catholic btw, just a different perspective. -
NO its about rape
-
did nobody watch the music video?
i think he's telling the story from a girls point of veiw. like rape or something
seriously you can tell from the video.
It's like this person is scared for life by what the attacker has done (you'll never know why your face has haunted me)
And the person is just breaking down (i want to know if i'll heal inside)
and stuff along the lines of that.
but i also think that at the same time, this was told being the fact that the attacker was someone the person trusted, then took advantage of by force, if you get it.
i dunno. That's just what i got out of it. -
This song to me is about addiction. "When the heart is cold, there's no hope" is the bottom that addiction brings. "Into the abyss will I run" means using\drinking to blackout.
-
I think it's about how he once loved a girl, but either she left left him, did not feel the same way, or just did not give him a chance and he cannot stop thinking of her and he is "can't let [her] go"
