Droppin' Plates Lyrics

Wew Here we go again, get up
A little somethin' for your earhole, get up
baring a part of my soul again, get up
Disturbed in the house, were droppin' plates

You said it couldn't be done
Told me that it's the kind of battle
That just...

According to David, the song "Speaks about Disturbed's uphill battle to be a metal band in a city, and a world that does not necessarily want one."

Definitely, this is from David's point of a view.

See, he's lashing out and getting revenge on someone who never encouraged him, always told him his expectations were unrealistic, someone who told him he was never good enough to be what he is now:
"You said it was the kinda battle that just couldn't be won"
and thought he was too mentally disabled to be a rational metal star:
"You're too sick/too hard/too fucked in the head"

And that's the basis of this song, although it has great meaning, if you look on iTunes, you'll find it was Disturbed's least popular song of all time.

I have been listening to this song for over 20 years and I just realized this is a Israel anthem to murder Palestinians. I can't believe it.

To me droppin plates is a metaphor for working out - the band trying to make it etc. as if they're in the gym. Not complicated, but great for working out to.

This is what I’ve heard. David grew up a religious Jew and his Rabbi said he was “too f**ked in the head, you’ll never make it, no, not in this lifetime” I’m paraphrasing but you get the idea...

This song means Dusturbed are corny, shallow dudes with pretty low level intellectual and cultural engagement. The record label is smart enough to know this sort of drivel will resonate with many small town, basic males.
You average Trump voter probably thinks this silly shit "rocks hard".

Jus another steaming pile of major label dog shit.

Dropping plates means throwing a record on a turntable. They are selling records and selling out venues

In prison, to drop plates... Lifting weights "bench press" you overload them and drop it on them. You messed with the wrong guy!Now you pay, WIMP!

I Think that this is a motivational song trying to get people back on their feet.
You said it couldn't be done
Told me that it's the kind of battle
That just couldn't be won, you know
You're too sick, too hard, too fucked in the head
You'll never make it, no, not in this lifetime
    Well guess again my friend.
David is saying that you can do it and helping people out of the situation they are in

This song is about disturbed's battle to get where they are today. "you said it couldn't be done" that's record labels/radio stations saying they won't be able to make it.
