Eminem: Space Bound Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Space Bound Lyrics
We touch, I feel a rush, we clutch, it isn't much
But it's enough to make me wonder what's in store for us
It's lust, it's torturous, you must be a sorcerous
Cause you just, did the impossible, gained my trust
Don't play games...

#1 top rated interpretation:this is obviously a love song. this song is truly brilliant on eminem's part. my favorite line perhaps is "love is evol spell it backwards i'll show ya" "nobody knows me i'm cold, walk down this road all alone, its no ones fault but my own its the path i've chosen to go" eminem is talking about how its his fault they aren't together. He realises he loves this girl but she doesn't feel the same.
"aimin right at you" means hes going to keep trying. in the second verse he explains how much he needs her. "i will do anything for you, to show you how much i adored you but its over now its too late to save our love just promise me you'll think of me every time you look up in the sky and see a star cuz ima" at the end of the song he kills himself, but i think in reality he realises he can't have her and that part of her in him is dying. he's still in love with her but comes to the realization he needs to let go, even though he's "lost without her". he still is deeply in love with her and can't bear not having her. i love this song because it shows another side of eminem we rarely see. -

#2 top rated interpretation:This may be my own personal spin on Em's song, but after watching the video I feel I may have actually been close.
I think it is that love is a giant mind f***, or at least it has been for Em. After seeing the video, especially, I see it as an internal monologue, or a scenario being played out in his head. Every time he tries to get close to a woman, he has his heart ripped out, so he has (possibly subconsciously) developed a way to sabotage any feelings before they even begin to occur.
The entire song plays in two parts, with two different personalities. Separate them, and you see the two characters from Em's video. One is the guy who allows himself to fall for a girl, the other is his actual self. "We touch, I feel a rush..." and "Nobody knows me I'm cold..." would be the two personalities within the first verse. In his mind, he's playing out the start of a relationship, and then reminding himself why he shouldn't, which sets up the story told in the rest of the song (you'll see at the end), starting with his internal debate in the prechorus, where one part of him wants to find love, but the reality of it is that it's a mistake. The closing lines show that his want to find love wins out in a battle of reason, so we go to the chorus.
The second verse opens with the persona who fell in love in the process of actually falling in love "I'll do whatever it takes...", and then we see the two personas become entangled within the second half of the verse as he tries to tell himself that "once we get 'em it's never the same...", but the last line "promise me if I cave in and break and leave myself open that I won't be making a mistake" tells us that he's still open to the possibility of pursuing this figurative character.
The third verse is the ultimate scenario he has built up in his head before ever even meeting the figurative girl. The cold, calculated persona and the persona who fell in love have both been wronged and decide the ultimate fate of the "relationship". This is the end-all, be-all result of what will happen if he goes for it... In this verse the two personas are almost inseparable, as Em already has the expectation of betrayal regardless of whether or not he lets himself fall in love.
At the end of the video, it all rewinds and we come back to the opening scene where he meets the girl. Looking at the song with the approach that this was all just something he concocted, sort of a 'daydream', we can have a bit more insight into the verse "nobody knows me I'm cold, walk down this road all alone... etc." from the beginning.
Space bound rocket ship... isolated in the cold vacuum of eternity.
Beautiful song, great symbolism, awesome video. -

#3 top rated interpretation:Im pretty sure this song is NOT a metaphor for his drug use, like some people are saying. Its pretty obviously about a girl, and that girl is not Kim. He says in the song 'Cause iv been treated like dirt before you' (by Kim) and this is a new girl hes fallen in love with after a long time. The reason he's not felt this way often before is that after Kim broke his heart, he closed up and didnt let anyone into his personal space and was very cautious with women. However, he finds himself madly in love with this girl, and he's scared at what might happen if she leaves him:"Promise me if i cave in and break and leave myself open that i wont be making a mistake". He feels very vulnerable while in love because he's had bad experiences with it before.
By the end of the song we find that she has cheated on him, and he is completely crazed and tries to kill her, but then lets her go and shoots himself instead.
I absolutely LOVE this song. A love song by eminem is rare and the style is unique to him. You wont find murder in other peoples love songs, or lines like, "I put those hands on your throat, I sit on top of you squeeze 'em till i snap your neck like a popsicle stick". Eminem is god. -
Its 100% not about a girl...
Watch the video and see whos in it space Bound is impossible.
So you can see it as a tripple meaning.
Drugs,girls,hes career.
But it all rewinds, so the girl didnt exist, even if it felt so.
Like stronger then I was.
Not about a girl like many thinks -
My name is Ayden, as a teenager, I really know what it feels like to fall in love. Just recently, I was in love with a girl, A girl whom I thought was the most beautiful and most talented person in the world. She looked amazing and played almost every sport. I loved her for a while, that was a crazy time in my life. My favorite line from space bound is, "There's no limit on how far I would go, no boundaries, no lengths. Why do we say that until we get that person that we thinks, Gonna be that one and then once we get 'em, it's never the same? You want'em when they don't want you
Soon as they do, feelings change. It's not a contest and I ain't on no conquest for no mate. I wasn't lookin' when I stumbled onto you, musta been fate. But so much is at stake, what the fuck does it take?" I can relate to these lines so much, it's saying exactly what I feel. When I fall for someone who I think is gonna be the one, the one person who will change my life forever in a sense of love, they never love me back, when they do, it's only a very short period of time before their feelings for you fade away. -
I Think that only Eminem knows what this sonng means. Thankyou xx

love this song. its so much deeper than the lyrics and what it says ... you have to look alot deeper to get what this song is saying. eminem is very legit. theres so much hurt behind this song. hes trying to explain ho he loves this girl (or Drug as mentioned above) but he just cant get to her (or it). but still, he wants to be strong enough to stay away from her (or it) eminem is showing a new level of feeling in this song that shoould be brought out more often.

his girl is leaving him he hasnt seen her for a couple days they touch its something but he can tell its different, but hopes it will be enough for them to stay together. Its not she walks out on him cold leaving him for the vultures. He wanders this world lonely and broken still trying to get her back every few weeks but after a year and a half her feelings have not changed. And im guessing when he talks about killing her that is an image that goes through his head maybe when shes telling him she doesnt want him and she walks out. Hes left crying and thinking he would have done anything for her he would have killed for her but now its all gone. He holds a pistol brings it to his head and squeezes hes a space bound rocket hes headed for the stars he hopes death will be easier than life and he wont have to deal with another creature walking out on him and crushing his heart.
